MacBook rebuild upgrade

My 10 year old Mac Pro is getting slow and hot, I was wondering if anybody has successfully done SSD upgrades and ram and if you are happy with it. Mine needs a new hinge, battery and upgrades if you know of anybody who can do the job I would appreciate it. The cost of a new rig is mind blowing and the interweb machine says these are pretty easy and cost effective upgrades. Thanks for your comments.

So just in case anybody is interested in this, I found a guy in St Albert who fixes everything apple. Really great 1 man show 2 day turnaround and very reasonable pricing I couldn't be happier my Mac runs like a champ again for 50% lower than most other stores were quoting.

A new SSD in an older MacBook really gives it a second wind. One of the best upgrades imo.

I know of 2 people had there apple lap tops upgraded and with in 3 months the mother board crashed

me thinks apple did it that's what I told me 2 friends any ways
