Hey, we're getting a bit off topic.

We're here to talk about a locals experience with his Tesla, not the guy who got splattered with acid before he was incinerated in his Tesla. Come on.

and this is snow and mud.

There is a 12V lead acid battery under the hood and in the model S they use 18650 panasonic cells for the battery which are under the floor of the vehicle.
I don't suggest driving into a tree at 90mph with any brand.

What's the 12v for?

Been more than one ICE vehicle that has burst into flames after an accident, can happen to all of them. My post was directed towards dying in a fire rather than any particular vehicle.

How is the heater in it? Is it better or worse then a gas powered motor? Can you go out and turn the heater on and warm your car up?

The heater works very well and uses a ton of power at full blast. I only run it at full blast to get the cabin to the desired temperature and then try to use the heated seats as much as possible.

New update today added dog mode and sentry mode. The sentry mode runs all 8 cameras while you are parked. Saves the video to the USB memory stick inside. Seems like a good security feature.

Dog mode just keeps the cabin at a safe temperature and displays a message on the screen showing the temperature. I’m more of a cat guy myself.

A couple days ago I woke up to a huge crack on my windshield. Looked like a stress crack. Dealer agrees and it will be covered under warranty. New windshield is about $1200 after labour. Full glass coverage is not a bad idea. Probably have had 30 rocks hit it but since the angle is so low they did not make any cracks.

Haha. Think about this. The meme (and we all know memes are the most accurate source of information) compares a high speed touring sedan and a super car killer with great range with and 77 HP Toyota Corolla? C'mon. You wouldn't compare your Alpha to a Lynx 2000 would you. Completely different vehicles and cannot be directly compared. Besides, if everyone drove a 77 HP Corolla we would meet the carbon reductions they are talking about :)

Don't know how accurate this is but interesting none the less.
