I just wanted to say thanks to all the people rioting today for standing up to the bull**** that is the carbon tax.

I wish more people had the backbone to stand up to politicians like the them.

Agreed! This will come soon enough for Canada, we can’t stand the bs any longer and I can see it’s going to start at some peace or protest rally and escalate into many provinces, towns and city’s where groups will riot. stopping the govement from stupidity is our right, I to will support the rage.

I agree. I wonder why we didn't go that route when the carbon tax was imposed on us. I'm guessing most of us can still afford to bleed out more and not get involved on the streets...yet. A movement like that here would make the politicians think twice in their policy making.

Yep eventually people will say enough is enough.
Pay more and more and then add some more on top of that .
Then take away CPP in tax’s as you have saved and worked to hard all your life.
Work harder and receive less as others that don’t work need it .
The list goes on and on !!

Very good points. I feel the riots will be over far more then just carbon tax.

It's like a 5 day drive to Ottawa to go riot. What good is a riot in Castlegar going to be? Lol

In France the carbon tax is what kicked it off...people there have been stewing a while on a number of different issues with the government. Not all that different here. It's just a matter of how long we are willing to take it. Like myself as most people are willing to see what the next provincial and federal election will bring. If trudeau comes in again.... ( which by the way is going to make me question my fellow Canadians judgment in voting him in again) I can see the same thing happen here as in France during his 2nd term. it's about timing to get people on the streets and make our point heard. There is strength in numbers... Maybe we need a warm up provincially first.

Biggest difference is many European countries have the same population as we do but packed into an area the size of Ontario or smaller. It’s much easier for people to unite and stand up when they are physically that close together.

They don’t have the challenges of several time zones, large expanses of relatively low number populations covering vastly different terrains and cultures like we do. Hell even in our own provinces we can barely unite enough to get a majority government elected let alone get half the country to oust a fcktard of a pm or protest his bs policies and ideas on things like carbon taxes.

Oh I agree. But for my personal situation, I can't really see any way that I can gain from rioting right now.

But If anyone wants to, take it to the Capitol and stay away from my place. Burning down your own neighborhood doesn't make any sense.

Go to the nearest NDP or Liberal neighbourhood and party.

I can point out a few in Edmonton if need be.

The French do other cool stuff like dump a semi load of manure on the steps of political buildings.

Biggest reason **** like this happens is politicians just get so disconnected from the average person.

They listen to radical lobbyists and not to their own constituents.

Drives me nuts when MLA's vote with their party.

Example. Bill 6.
Not a person in our rural rideing wanted it.
But still our genius MLA votes for it.
Riot should have happened right there.

Gotta be careful about supporting the “yellow jackets” in France. On one hand, they are protesting the carbon tax, but if you read into the other demands, it’s about the minimum pay, etc. So by supporting this latest uprising you are against the carbon tax, but for raising minimum wage...? Gotta be careful. Hey, I agree: carbon tax is a complete BS wealth transfer. But minimum wage, needs to reside where the market decides.

I wonder about media bias with the riots in France. It definitely started as a carbon tax / fuel price issue, then a couple days in it was being reported as a "living cost" issue and this raised my suspicion. Could be wrong of course, who knows what to believe nowadays.
