Oh yes I remember him saying that too, in PG our lines are usually gone. It still stays on the road because the gps they use is fantastic. But the steering wheel twitches around. But with out lines on the road you would be better off with a drunk behind your wheel.

For maximum of the batteries, it is best to keep the charge between 40-70%. I think he said his extended range batteries cost $28000.00.

He had to put his own charging station in PG has none, he plugs into the university 110 plug but it does not charge very much by the time he gets off work. For those installing you own charging station insist on 4 gauge wiring.

It takes 4hrs to charge at 220AC. The DC charging stations are direct to the battery so 40 minutes of charging, charges your batteries to 80%.

Cool. How many amp do you need to install your own charger?

And what does the monthly power bill look like now?

He put in 80 amps but i think the Tesla only draws 50. Once you reach teir 2 pricing it gets expensive. Anybody who belongs to Team Power Smart has a good understanding how power works, which is not many people. He said it would be cheaper than gas, I am sure he could make a spread sheet it seconds to prove that.

We run 2 cars off a 30amp 240v breaker. The laundry room is next to the garage so I installed a transfer switch above the dryer. Model S charges at 28km/h and volt charges at about 20km/h.

I have a Neurio on our panel as well so I will post later about the difference in our monthly consumption.

Isn’t this tech responsible for a pedestrians death or injury already???

No doubt far from perfect but probably less likely to hit a pedestrian than lots of the human drivers out there. I doubt I would want it though until I knew it worked for sure. I prefer to manage my own near misses with pedestrians thank you very much

It is behavior like this that really sets Tesla apart from the standard auto makers. They even addressed my normal irritation with statistics as those gathering information like to aggregate substantially different information to support a certain statistic. For example, alcohol related accidents are all grouped together even those where the not at fault driver had consumed alcohol and was not over the legal limit. In my opinion, this BS leads to poor information on which people - law makers specifically - make poor decisions. BTW, I am not a fan of drinking and driving and if you think you are near the limit, don't.

At any rate Tesla quotes some pretty amazing accident statistics and immediately says they are working to break that down into more meaningful data. Makes me happy.

I'm not comfortable with the idea, although i have a feeling that some people are better off with the auto pilot.

What I don't get is if some of the most sophisticated ships in the world can collide out in the middle of the ocean...with only two ships in the vicinity, how is auto pilot of individual cars going to do better?

I disagree. You have to accept terms of service that state that you are responsible. Common sense would be not to use a system that relies on the road lines when there are no visible road lines. Also they sometimes **** up the road lines when they are painting them so you have to watch out for that as well.

Last time i shopped for new -2018 crv - lots of hype about lane assist but they were hesitant to acknowledge that it was yseless unless roads were clearky marked / maintained.
