I'm guessing they weren't thinking. I'm also thinking that this sort of thing in Canada is no big deal. If they are caught it is just a minor wrist slap and some community service. That is what this woman has grown up with and just thinks this sort of thing is no big deal. Wrong country to be not on one's best behaviour.

I work overseas and thus travel to various different countries and work with people from all over the world and western civilizations don't seem to realize that just because in Canada you can be gender X or do stupid **** with a slap on the wrist that other countries don't put up with it. Traveling to Ghana there is no option other than male or female then filling out the paper work. In Malaysia you get caught stealing you lose a finger or a hand. You want to be an idiot in a foreign country you better be ready to face their consequences.

I've worked with asians overseas that we're familier with the prison systems in Thailand, vietnam, laos and cambodia. White Western girls that end up doing time in these places for stupid sh#t are quite popular with the local guards and inmates. She had better hope on her life and other parts of her body that she will only face a fine and be returned to Canada. She has no idea what is waiting for her if she does any time. Some people have to learn the hard way.
