Orphan/unattended wells are a problem on land but in the Gulf of Mexico, it is amazing nobody is doing something about it. Well I guess that is not true. A whole pile of new off shore leases are being granted to make sure a America is Great again.

And we worry about tankers.

One of the things I do find annoying about this (besides everything) is that bureaucrats sit on this and do nothing but when there is any other kind of a small spill, they rally round and scream the modern day equivalent of "crucify him."

Unspent money in the bank that could go toward further controlling the leaks but instead everyone appears to just sit and wring their hands. Bunch of B-turds....

Offshore drilling is the cost of energy independence for the US. Not just their Gulf though....
