Jason Nixon on with Danielle Smith tomorrow at 10:00 am regarding Bighorn land use issues. I think it’s AM770 in Calgary and AM630 in Edmonton. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised by the dirty tactics Philips will use to fulfill her agenda. She will do anything to stop the REAL open public input instead of just those of her insider groups. I didn't realize an opposing point of view was now classified as bullying by the NDP. Shannon Philips and the NDP are exhibiting more and more communist tactics every day. If she rams through this park without proper consultation and due regard for the democratic process the UCP needs to reverse it when elected because of improper consultation. Trudeau managed to get the trans mountain pipeline approval overturned due to insufficient consultation so there is no reason why the UCP can't do the same. Actually all the new parks should be rescinded because the public consultation was a sham in all cases. End of rant!

It’s the progressive way. When you can’t win the argument using facts, the name calling starts. When that doesn’t work they equate differing options and disagreements as threats, shut the public discussion off and proceed with their plans anyway.
It took the conservatives 40 years to get arrogant, overbearing and disconnected with albertans. The NDP have managed to get that way in 3.
The good news is these a$$holes will be long gone before anyone can make any meaningful changes in the bighorn. We’ll just have to make sure the UCP keeps their promises to rescind all these closures.

Phillips concerned about “inflamed rhetoric and inaccurate statements”. This constitutes bullying? I’d say those quoted statements are a page out of the play politicians use as they ram stuff down our throats as tax payers. Kind of like the whole federal carbon tax rhetoric and inaccurate statements of how it helps reduce emissions?

The UPC has made no such promises. I spoke to Jason Nixon myself and he refused to say anything. Typical ****ing politician. I quit donating to the UPC after that and I am joining the Alberta separatist party.

If people have been threatened, where are the police reports to back this up?
The NDP is going to listen to the opinions of “retired” biologists to form policy that affects millions of people in Alberta. Most of the “data” they are using isn’t even from Canada.
This is simply a stall tactic to further impair Albertans rights to say NO.
If the NDP can ram this through before they get booted from office, they will in effect, have subverted the democratic process. This goes far beyond a simple park designation. We are now in the realm of dictatorship actions , by a government that is clearly out of control.

Quite the tactic. When it came on Global News last night that the Public meetings had to be cancelled due to bullying and went on as far as people are being followed home and threatened.. Seems pretty extreme and if that was the case as mentioned above, RCMP would be involved..

Who's running the Asylum if the Govt can't coordinate an effective discussion on a land closure that obviously has strong feelings in both regards.. The Govt wants to impose regulation, local land owner and users want a say in what those regulations are and the Govt can't afford people to have there voices heard.. Very poor showing from the NDP..

That's as outlandish as canceling due to Racism..

Closing large areas and funnelling people to confided areas such as Banff, Louise and Jasper - soon to be BigHorn doesn't add up to me.. Why make these areas more accessible to sunday drivers or tourists who just come for a drive, leave a bunch of foot prints and garbage, drive away the wildlife.. Spread us out, let us enjoy what nature has to offer... The mountains of Banff look like anthills in the summer time, 20mins south on a gravel road, the place to yourself..

Wonder how many People who are on the board or committee to impact the closure are actual backcountry users - be it hiking, equestrian, moto, bike, canoe, fishing = getting out and enjoying what AB has to offer.. Its a huge wilderness and we have bigger fish to fry right now.
