Check your bill, Globalstar minimum plan is now 125 min at 79.99. I phoned to cancel and they offered my 20 bucks off but I only use my phone a few times a year so they have lost my business. When I started with them they had a 10 min plan that was reasonable. Doesn't cost them anything to have my phone being unused but they can't figure that out. They rather have nothing than what I was paying before.

I called spot about 6 mths ago, and tore into them about the price increases when I got the latest notification. They put my bill back to the original cost when I first got my spot. I have been with them Basically since the company started, Inreach was looking very good at the time.

They have been calling me to renew. As I had a 6 month plan for the winter. Used zero minutes.

They said they don’t do monthly plans anymore and would sell me the yearly subscription for 1/2 price. That was gonna be 600$.

I said I was unsure as the only time I tried to use my phone I took it out of my pack and the battery was dead. It was on the charge for 2 weeks before the half day ride. I’m not sure what to do now. Stupid to carry a phone that will be dead if I need it.

They offered me a $200 buy back on the phone, or he said to call him in the fall and he will temporarily activate it so I can test it again in cold weather.

I bought a used 1700 a while back and the battery was dead. The charger that came with it wouldn't charge it and I had to rig up one of my other charges to get the battery to come back. Once i got the battery working again the charger would work. I also bought a USB charger cord for it and have a USB port on my bikes and sleds. No point carrying a dead battery holder in the backcountry

So when I cancelled my globalsar last month they offered me a better rate at that time but it was still way to much. Today someone called and offered me 44.75 per month but I would have to pay in advance for the year. Still to much for me. Kind of sounds like they are having cash flow problems. Anyways if you still want to stay with Globalstar and want a cheaper rate just cancel it and wait until they call you back.

just looked at mine today. I had phoned to discuss the plan I was on before the renewal. Of course got someone I couldn't talk to. He tells me phone back after the renewal and make a change. I look and i have been charged 960 for 1500 minutes for the year. :yikes: I think I will need to get this changed.

I called Spot to renew my plan, they had some crazy increase,,, so I told them to cancel it since I have other sources that work just about as good.

I thanked them for their business, when they bring back the monthly billing I'll renew my unit once again.

Fat chance of that happening since they are planning on losing more customers business till the company goes broke.

Oh well, it's their call since we can't fix Stupid. Ha

Just got off my annual rant with GlobalStar. After 45 minutes and three levels of customer service, my bill will stay the same for another year. $47.58 month after taxes and 120 minutes a month.
