Just thought I'd see if anyone had some suggestions on places to go with my Jeep. We are heading to the interior (100 Mile, Williams Lake area) next week for a bit of a vacation. I have a 2015 2 door Rubicon and been 4X4ing a fair bit over the years but don't want to get to crazy for obvious reasons, mostly looking for some scenic places that the average person wouldn't get to see. My neighbor gave me a couple suggestions around 100 Mile house but we will be camping at a different spot every couple of nights unless we really like a certain area.

So if you have any suggestions anywhere from 100 Mile through to Prince George, even towards Bella Coola where we are thinking on going as well I would appreciate it.

The bc recreational atlas might help you out. Lots of places to see. Not sure if 100 mile house is that great to see though. Might want to camp over at kinbasket lake first night right near valemount. rec sites are free.

Tks, I was actually just using 100 Mile as a general location. We were out in the Valmont area earlier this year so I was going to try and get a little further the first day since we will be leaving from Hinton Sat. morning.

Canim Lake through the north access is pretty good.

The whole stretch from 100 mile through to Little Fort has a bunch of very nice spots, although not really out of the way. Anaheim Lake area used to have some great fishing but havnt been that way in many years.

Going a bit father north, the circle route through Likely and into Barkerville is pretty excellent.

Take hwy 5 at Tete Jaune down to Clearwater and then hop on Rd2 through TFL18 up into the back end of Canim Lake. Lots of camping rec sites in the TFL Coldscaur lake is right off Rd2 and has a few sites. Then take the Mahood Lake rd out to Horse Lake rd and back to Hwy 24 at Lone Butte. Go out to Hwy 97 and south to Big Bar Rd and hook that in to Dog Creek rd and back up into Williams Lake.

Thanks guys, I guess I should have mentioned I'm pulling the Jeep behind my class A m/h. So I'm hoping to park for a night or two then tour around in the Jeep. If we do go to Bella Coola in the Jeep we will stay the night there.
Likely, Barkerville and Mahood falls all sound like good ones.

Is it mostly gravel through that way? Sounds like it would be pretty scenic.

you better stick to the paved, down to little fort and over to 100 mile. PS one more time get a recreational atlas, or backwoods for rec sites.

We do have the Backroads Maps, I can find places to camp along the paved routes. I'm looking for spots to go in the Jeep for day trips from where ever it is we camp at.

Yes Bnorth I don't think it will like the gravel roads either. lol Still some spots to go in the Jeep for sure.

In your situation I highly recommend going to Barkerville via Quesnel, paved highway and great camp spots in Barkerville, you can spend weeks exploring with a jeep back there, done lots of SXS trips in the area, never leave disappointed.

Thanks Tom, we will be checking it out for sure. Wish I could haul the SXS behind the Jeep behind the m/h. Oh well, at least the SXS won't be broke when we get back home. lol

The bc recreational atlas has all the rec sites for sure i have two of them. Then if you have a phone or tablet you can download wikiloc app for offline use. It has built in 4x4 routes other people have taken for all of alberta and bc complete with pictures. Or atv routes. Or walking trails you name it, it takes a bit of wading to get through it. You can also upload your routes.

Pretty much all gravel, your moho won't be too happy on the Big Bar side methinks.

I was but am not sure we will make it there far this trip. Guess it will depend on the fires and weather where we actually end up.

You may want to look at the Telkwa pass
If your coming up this direction theirs better places to ride then the telkwa pass. I was in there about a month ago and their was a spot that we weren't able to get by with the side by. The mic is a good ride along with the dome which has lots of riding, sylvern lakes is a good day ride as well, tour a bit farther northbound and do nine mile in hazelton. All these places are good rides and the scenery is excellent.
