It was just announced that as of August 3rd there is off-road vehicle ban in parts of BC including Kamloops, Cariboo and South east. Due to the extreme fire danger. Its dry out there

we had a ban last year as well. I think it was for approx 4-6 weeks if I recall.
Ya, it sucked azz not being able to ride

Think it was closer to 8 weeks if I recall

Sucks that sicamous is part of Kamloops, cause we get way more moisture than there

It is super dry right now, but I think they should divide the areas up some, cause we can be super wet and rain, but Kamloops is dry still and fire ban - atv ban is still on

this ban is due to fires and the extreme conditions. It is not a forever ban from the bush

Not close enough to the Mountains, AB
Same thing in AB, been way more popular since the Ft Mac fires it seems like. But I don't think there is a ban here at this moment.

As much as it sucks, I've seen embers build up on my SXS exhaust before, so I get the logic behind it. But definitely sucks for the guys who had plans over the long weekend

Too hot and dusty to ride anyway.

Your bikes have spark arrestors?

I can't find anything either, thinking it's a confusion with last years closure dates.

ATV ban has been on going in region 3 for some time hasn't it?

I'm on the fence about these things. It keeps the morons out but it also prevents good people from enjoying the trails. Better safe than sorry though. I wouldn't want to be on the hook for the fire fighting bill
