Speed limits already exist on FSR's in BC, which is much of what we ride as "trails".

Speed restriction

4. A person must operate a motor vehicle on a forest service road at a speed that

(a) is safe for the conditions, and

(b) does not exceed the lesser of

(1) 80 km/h, and

(2) the speed posted on a relevant traffic control device.

Say it ain't so....good thing I really rarely ride trails. And I usually can deal with 80 kp/h.

If you get a ticket for 10 over, it is just a bad luck. Very rarely does any one get a ticket for that. In Vancouver, some speed traps are set for anyone over 20. Even some are set for 30 over. All depends on the highway conditions, location and attitude of the cops.

With the amount of traffic on the roads now especially this coming weekend just get in line and cruise. You will not get further ahead and only risk your life and others by trying. For all the frustration and risk it’s just not worth it to arrive 3 vehicles ahead per hour of driving. Chill out.

Drive at night, less traffic and slow pokes, you need to go at least 160 km to make up time in the day.....dont do it though.
or you can drive at night with less traffic at the posted limit and still make record time. Slow and steady is the way to go.
on the other hand a speeding ticket is costly so if you need to speed do 139 km, this way it cost the same and they won’t take you ride away if your under 40 km over the limit.
its your best value.

Get a Radar detector. And when it beeps. Slow down to the posted speed limit until the beeping is gone. Then back up to whichever speed you are comfortable at.

My wife got stopped by the rcmp on highway 22 and he told her to set her cruise control at 10 over and she would be good.

Hey all made it to Kelowna. What a BEAUTIFUL DRIVE!! No issues with 10 over but only saw one cop and he was busy. True about not being in too much of a hurry. Made decent time and stopped on occasion. Gas at kamloops 145 a litre yesterday. Sure is nice out here.

That's why some of us live out here. It is getting tougher with the idiots who are trying to run the province.
