Bringing a dog camping ?

hahahahaha. exactly it was not funny at the time but 24 hrs later we were busting our guts laughing about it. Glad I don't own a dog anymore! DONT EVER GET A SHIH TZU! DOG LOL

My dog loves camping so much he had a 4 hour boner in the truck all the way to site, young daughter says "I feel if we all had a red missile we'd all have them out" hahahaha

we had a standard poodle, wasn't a fan when the wife got it, but man it turned out to be a great hound. the only reason we tie him is out of courtesy to others, he doesn't leave our camp when he's not tied, non confrontational to other dogs...in fact he could care less about them. as long as he's near his mommy, he's happy and content. poor guy had a stroke and passed away this winter, he will be tough to replace. best camping dog we've ever had.

Now you know how all us husbends feel when we can leave the kids at grams and just take the wife camping.

In my opinion it all depends what you consider camping, most people RV camp. Either go to a organized site or go off some back country road with their RV.
Even those that tent will camp within a camp site or road system where other campers or RV's are set up.
In these situation's taking a dog can be entertaining i guess as long as it doesn't cause issues with other people and their dogs.
BUT
Going remote like back packing, multiday wilderness trekking into the alpine and even canoe into a remote area i would never take a dog. Dog's don't belong in the wilderness and it can be a very dangerous thing to do, especially should you encounter a bear.
Dog's are like bear magnet's and once a bear is pissed guess where the dog will run too, with a surprise following.

Depends on the dog. A couple English mastiffs might be good to have around. Or like 5 rotwielliers

It depends on the dog and if he has bear smarts! Some dogs lead the bear away other come right back for your protection and like was stated then you have a bad situation.
