If we can't move it out of the province it's time to get an Alberta government to help set up more refineries and produce it. So we sell finished product only!!! Then let the pr!@kz wine about the cost.

“Kinder Morgan says it is suspending all non-essential activities and related spending on the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion project.”

Is that shutting down?

Looks to me like they are giving the government ultimatums.

Time to chit or get off the pot. This is not a project to loose and will have drastic conciquences for future projects. I honestly never thought things would get this far out of hand

Thats not good, looks like a copy cat of energy east, just a different reason to suspend spending.

Eventually kinder will say the juice isn't worth the squeeze. Canada will be a third world country in my kids lifetime. Can't/Won't sell/burn coal, can't sell oil... hopefully mad cow doesn't come back or we are really in trouble

Kinder Morgan should have some "unscheduled inspections" at the start of the summer driving season, shut the line down for a month or so just to see what happens.

You also must consider the effect of this move on producers, further crippling the economy with commodity prices shaky at best. It sounds good but really isn’t, IMO.

More heavy oil upgraders would solve this problem. I bet Suncor is regretting canceling the voyager project now.

Building our own refineries would help too as well as manufacturing

How so? Can upgrade it all you want if you can't pipe it out of here who cares.

The WTI/WCS differential is so large right now cause everyone buy WCS knows it's landlocked.

Huh???? Interesting comment, so you dont think synthetic crude (diesel) in a pipeline is better than bitumen?

Upgraders do not make diesel.
Refinerys do.

Upgraders make synthetic crude but it is still crude oil.

I agree adding any value to our oil is a good idea but right now there is no incentive to bring a upgrader online.

Hell Nexen won't even repair the one they blew up.

My vision
If our PM had some lady balls he would make a raw bitumen pipeline header and a finished product header (gasoline/diesel/jet) from the Pacific to the Atlantic.

Ship loading out both ends.
Each province could build their own refineries or upgraders and export as they wish.

It would benefit every single Canadian.

Down an ole dirt road in a town you wouldn't know
Or the other option would be for AB and Sask to say F@wk you all because of ZERO support; coupled with no interest in economic prosperity. Hold a referendum on becoming the 51st and 52nd states of the USA. Un....F@wking.....Believable... what has become of Canada in just 3.5 years...
