Yep, Lomas is the way to go, $250 clams and your riding in style there and back, door to door. We did the bus thing once, never again it wasn’t very fun, took forever.

Well we bit the bullet and opted for Disney world in the spring. 4 day hopper passes and a hate with a suite and 13 slide water park. Close to 8K cheaper than what the Disney cruise over the same time period was gonna cost. All include will likely wait a couple of years till the kids can take care of themselves a bit more.

Has anyone been to Curacao? Pronounced care-uh-sow........near as I can tell. About 40 miles from Venezuela.....yippee. My wife wanted to go somewhere that we haven't been, looks like she found it. Booked us in late November. Just the 2 of us in our young mid fifties. Sort of not looking forward to it for some reason.

I have to ask my wife about which resort we're staying at. I highly recommend a day trip to Xel-Ha. (google it) My kids had a blast. Fun for all.

Yep. Been to Xel-Ha twice. Would do it again. Use lots of sun screen. Burned the back of my calves real bad snorkeling.

I think this is what we have in mind

been here - it was great! We were rookies to the all inclusive thing. Soon as you check in, book your restaurant dining times right away, or else it’s buffets or retarded early or late dinners for you.

i got schooled on the pronunciation right at the airport. I said “sandoze carasol” please? Porter said “ sandoze cara- KOL, senor.....cara- KOL”. Hahahhahahaha

Been to Aruba, which is right beside it.
One of the nicest islands I have been too in the Caribbean.

Wife and I got back yesterday from spending a week on the island of Curacao, about 40 miles off the northern shore of Venezuela.

We stayed at the Sunscape, in a beach front room upgrade, which was a fairly decent all-inclusive, pretty comparable to the Iberostar in Cozumel. There were some awesome beaches on the Island........and no murders that I'm aware of, unlike Cancun, etal. The food at the buffet at the resort left something to be desired, but most of the specialty restaurants were quite good, especially the grill, imo. My Vodka drinks on the beach were a little watered down, but the ones from the specialty restaurants seemed full strength. Prices on the island, in general, seemed relatively low, like you'd expect in Mexico.

It was a 2.5 hr plane ride from Miami, but some Canadians we hung out with had, I think, a 4.5 hr trip straight through from Toronto. They got right through all the security, but we had a pretty good wait, and many had pretty thorough searches just because we had been in Miami.

One of the excursions we did was the "buggy's" from www.scoobytours.com . The "buggy's" were actually CFMoto side by side 550s. They were decent to drive, and had more low end torque than I expected, but holy ****.....they had a lot of motor noise and vibration. Ours had 4800km on the clock, and the string of them got up to 63 km/h on the blacktop. The tour included stopping at an osterich farm.....bfd....could have skipped that, and then to an "offroad course" that was a little rougher, and we got to ride a little faster than I had expected. Followed that to a volcanic lava shore line and a big "blow hole" that you damn sure didn't want to fall into. After that we hiked up a basically unimproved trail and had about a 3 foot step up into a cave, and on up to the top of the ridge above that. It was actually a fairly good climb, and would never have passed muster in the US for liability concerns......fun though.

We'd go there again.
