Was there a couple months ago and thought it was awesome let me get this straight, so apparently some chick who was wasted already decides to eat some thc gummies, she makes a poor decision because of alcohol and eats too many, even though the packaging says how much is recommended and the dispensary folks probably told her as well, then she gets blackout wasted after and its legalizations fault??????? Are you related to Ronald Reagan or just by sheer coincidence just as naive???????

Sort of but not quite correct in your response, my criticism from what I saw in Vegas was not only having to inhale others second hand smoke, (I dislike second hand cigarette smoke too) was the form the cannibis was in and the apparent strength of the product. I guess the argument could be made that booze needs to be put away from younger kids too, but just my opinion after observation, no butt hurt for others intended.

Impaired driving is my biggest concern. Lots of guys think being stoned doesn’t impair their ability to drive or operate machinery. I also have to wonder what is gonna happen to lung cancer rates over time. Might be a big hit to health care costs. If you look at Colorado, the government is starting to see the negative social costs starting to outweigh the tax benefits.

Im not sure where you stay or spend all your time while there but in the 5 days i was just there i maybe seen two people the whole time smoking pot that were close enough to the general public that maybe someone might get a baby second hand inhale. Other than that it is not legal to smoke in public in vegas and the majority was people tucked way off to the side of the strip smoking a joint not harming anyone. Just cause you smell it doesnt make it second hand smoke. I could smell booze on every person riding the elevator with us, does that get me second hand drunk?????? And those gummies aren’t that strong, been there had them by the dozens, your friend was drunk and is obviously not a regular pot user. It says right on the packaging dont mix with alcohol, take one and see how it goes if you dont feel anything in an hour or so take another.... not rocket science, your friend was just a drunk idiot who f*cked up and your trying to blane weed for something that was alcohols fault. And so far as kids getting ahold of them because they are candy..... what makes booze any different? They make hard root beers that taste exactly like root beer, they make flavoured booze in any girly fruity taste you want, they make teas that taste like regular ice tea and the list goes on and on

Its not the tobacco smoke that gives you lung cancer just so you know, its the chemicals loaded into every cigarette that causes cancer. All this legal weed is heavily regulated and growers have to jump through hoops to assure their operations are up to the required standard to be able to sell to the public, 95% or more is organically grown and chemical free hydroponics just like an indoor greenhouse growing vegetables in the winter. If smoke alone gives lung cancer then i know alot of people who will have it soon enough due to sitting by a smoky camp fire for hours on end 40-50 times a year

Yup agreed right now for young drivers it’s as* backwards, a driver with graduated license gets a 24 hour suspension from stoned driving, but if they have blood alcohol above zero it’s 30days suspension and 7days impoundment. Then they go for a good job after high school and they fail drug tests. I’m sure Mr Dressup will have it all figured out by July.

Why is it a big mistake? What information leads you think that?

Why do you think med pot is ok but recreational is bad?

Did you read any other comments in this thread other than mine???
Look at the issues that states have that pot is already legal in.
The info is out there, read it.

Look at the issue with the union and the oil sands up north on random drug testing. That cant even get sorted out.

Not entirely true. It is true that the cigarette manufacturers add all sorts of crap that contributes to the harm of their products. To say that pot won’t cause cancer because it’s organic is misguided. Smoke from pot is comprised of particulate matter, CO, CO2, and a host of chemical trace elements coming from the artificial fertilizers and other nutrients used in the hydroponic growing process. And yes, wood smoke from a campfire will give you lung problems if you inhale enough. Inhaling smoke from ANYTHING is harmful to your health.

Ever wonder why lung cancer is covered under WCB in Alberta for firefighters who haven't smoked for a minimum of 10 years? I spent a week in fort Mac and I'm sure thats not gonna mean the long run.

Oh im not denying its somewhat harmful to lung health, smoking or breathing anything other than clean air is. I know all about lung health, bad asthmatic for my entire life, born with it, spent lots of time in the intensive care unit as a child, sometimes for 5-6 weeks 24 hrs a day, so I have had a little experience learning about that. But you all are comparing it to cigarettes which is like comparing drinking one bottle of beer daily to drinking one bottle of vodka daily. Smokers consume probably on average 20 cigs or more a day, weed smokers on average maybe 1-3 joints that are half the size of a cigarette and contain not 1/32 the the harmful chemicals in smokes. Its not even in the same ballpark for comparison. To say it causes lung cancer is pure speculation on your behalves. Nobody seems to mind the thousands dying and leaching off the health care system for alcohol related illnesses.......... throat cancer, stomach cancer, mouth cancer, liver disease, kidney failure, heart problems, stroke, brain degeneration..... still everyone full on supports drinking and even glorifies it by making threads on here about how many twisted teas they drink a day........Just because you all are stuck in the past and cant except that everything you knew about pot was pure propaganda, doesnt mean you should still walk around with the blinders on. Get educated on the subject a little more and maybe look in the mirror, you all wont sound so stupid

On occasion yes, there is a time and place. I have near perfect lung health now, as close as any bad life long asthmatic can be to perfect lung health anyway. Its controlled with a daily inhaled corticosteroid, and a decent amount of activity and excercise, and I havent had any issues in over 20 years. My parents were told at one time as a child my asthma was so bad that I would never be able to spend any amount of time at high elevations, or be an outdoorsmen really at all due to breathing issues associated with lack of oxygen and all the allergens from trees, dust, grass etc. Proved them wrong, been spending my winters in the mountains snowboarding and sledding for 21 years now and I am never the first in the group to gas out, also play 60-80 rounds of golf per summer and walk over half of them to the tune of 8-10 km of walking per round

Do you smoke after going through all that?

I wasn’t comparing it to anything but, Ok you listed all of those health examples of cigs and booze. Now tell me the long term effects of pot usage. Tell me why legal pot is a good thing? The difference in street pot and medical pot.
Educate me.

I can say from personal experience no negative effects what so ever, some people may. Maybe a couple lbs overweight due to always having an appetite lol. Legal pot is a good thing as it should free up the courts from minor possession charges all the way up to possession with intent to distribute charges. Also creates jobs, brings in more taxable revenue that has slipped under the radar all these years ( not that I like taxes but its the way of cigs and booze in Canada). People are still gonna sell pot illegally in places where there is no dispensaries but having shops will put almost all small time dealers outta business as their product wont hold a match to legal dispensary quality. Medical grade pot is cleaner, better quality and you can really focus in what you want out of the flower. For example certain strains are better for helping people sleep (high thc indicas are good for that), higher cbd lower thc strains for pain and swelling management, low thc means less psycho active effects so you dont get stoned but just feel a bit better. Cbd's have been proven over and over to help with muscle recovery and dealing with inflammation as well it can help with cancer patients for nausea and appetite loss from chemo treatments. You can get Sativa strains for more of a mellow high but not near the burnout of indicas, maintain energy and improve overall mood. Also opens the door for people who have lung issues and cant smoke as there will be tons of different edibles and vaping products available now that are made in a controlled environment so the potency can be controlled and made more consistent per portion. The legality will also help with R/D and will allow private labs, not just gov't labs to start breaking down the different components of the plant and really dig deep into the benefits of the whole plant and not just the flower portion. People talk about the impaired driving aspects and ya there may be more cases of that but not necessarily due to more people smoking and driving, cops will be watching for it more as well as the general public so its gonna increase the stats. Drunk drivers are around and always have been and people still welcome getting wasted like its part of life. I could go on and on

I'm pretty sure I heard of several studies pointing to inhibited brain development in teenagers from regular (not even excessive!) use.
