Well the truth is coming out from every one in the vehicle being drunk admitting to atempting to steal a truck on another property and a quad on gerald stanleys farm and having a rifle in the vehicle. Lieing under oath about what really happened but it was just a couple of good kids out swimming for the day. With what happens here in sask with theft and the amount of crime especially in that area people are so sick of chaining everything down and constantly being harrassed its just sad that criminals are not punished properly in canada

car load of people trying to steal your property and they have a gun.....that's self defense in my mind.

A friend and i cought few kids trying to steal my stereo out of my truck back when i was 20. The kid was only 17 and i roughed him up good, even shattered my knuckle bone and couldn't use my hand for few weeks....he tryed to charge me with assault and he got jack ****...long story long, only thing that came out of it was i had to go to 2 anger mangement courses. I'd do the same thing if it happened again. I'm sure most would disagree but whatevs .

The last 2 witnesses that were in the vehicle with Boushie, have both admitted on the stand that they lied to police in their statements.

I'm sure everyone is completely shocked by that revelation.

i think people should be able to protect their property from theft plain and simple. The police are not doing enough because we cant afford them to do more. I think there would be a lot less theft if people knew they were risking their lives. Why cant people be decent........

I guess the only solution is a hot economy, to busy working to be a POS!.

Criminals have too much leverage in the legal system. My car accident back in October 2016, the car was stolen, driver on probation, drunk, high on crystal meth, crystal meth in his possession, prohibited shotgun, fleeing scene of accident, resisting arrest, went for the cops gun, cut off monitoring bracelet... just google him Jason Lloyd Morin

Probably getting a slap on the wrist, and not even being charged with drunk driving.

Funny how little media attention this is getting. Trial going to the jury and you hear so little from media. It's unfortunate that it's being turned into a racial trial. My question is if the other people in the car admitted to trying to steal the vehicle next door, when are they being charged. As far as I'm concerned they were all accomplices to the crime. I'm betting they get a get out of jail free card and it's sad. It's disturbing that we can't protect our home and possessions without being persecuted. Just my 2c

I get very racist when you leave the rez to come onto my property and steal my chit. This is a huge issue down our way as the good folks from Siksika make their nightly runs to the south to steal vehicles et all from the white man. Cops say it is a gang initiation. I think cops need to run late night check stops at 2 entry points to our lands south of the rez and make this go away.

They were given immunity by the crown in exchange for their full cooperation. That didn't come out until the CBC reported on it last week. Quite the trade...

Reading your link, that's the first I've heard of the issue of 'why did the gun go off?' I don't see any reason this is even being discussed. Guns go off because the trigger was pulled. Seems like a smoke screen that just confuses the whole issue of what went down. It's not clear in that article who brought that up.

Dam, that's just ludicrous. They admitted to criminal activity at the first farm, but this one they just wanted some help, come on. And get immunity.....that being said I can't find any info on them getting immunity. I think even the courts are trying to placate the racist angle people with this. Anyone who believes that they were only looking for help with a flat tire after attempting to steal a vehicle at previous farm has a screw loose. The were armed with a loaded fire arm, fact. They were drunk, fact. Why is this poor guy even on trial? A criminal is a criminal, I don't care what color their skin is, but now there is no accountability because of race. And thats a sad, scary state we are in.

It looks like if the crown proves he meant to fire the gun he's guilty. Defense saying he didn't known how it went off

Adam I read an article on this that brings up that he may have experienced a "hangfire" and the gun actually went off seconds after he had last pulled the trigger? This is possible as forensics was able to duplicate this when testing the pistol with the box of old ammo he had loaded the gun with?
