Question about Log Truck Drivers.

Call MikMak. I think they had an installer in Okotoks or High River. I have no first hand experience, but they were recommended by someone I trust.

I have first had experience with Simard. They were a good company in 2001, and 2007 when they did tandem steer conversions for me. Also did some service work and were very fair. I would use them again

Awesome good to know they have someone in Alberta.

I often think I'd like to own a restored, or easily restored Hayes HD. Has to be old enough to have single headlights, radiator mounted. Cat, but more likely Cummins power, no two cycles. 5 & 4 transmissions. Heavy haul, winch, or log truck configuration. Any leads, post or PM would be appreciated.

Have a Pacific bed with planetaries now, but it's too hard on drivers to drive just for kicks.

Would still be done if not for the blue ribbon law markers lol

I saw a off shore operation where the guy would truck the wood off the mountain with a 5 axle. Some of those cedars were 6ft across at the 100ft mark. Truck was driven by a 16 year old kid powered by a N14
Real trucker I say s.w.a.t...no jake no brake and just a few gallons of water to keep em from catching fire. Old school logging is just way cool.

Ouch. He sure does pretty his trucks up hey ST.

Yup, shine them up, attract the young inexperienced drivers with the big shiny belt buckles, pay them way below market rate and send them out into the bush to fend for themselves. It might not be obvious, but I dont have much respect for Jeb.

not sure how to turn this around, but it was pretty funny, a disgruntled driver posted these stickers all over town a couple years ago. IMG_1192.JPG

How many trucks does he have now. Didn't he start with just 1? I have some respect for a guy who starts with not much and turns it into something but no need to be arrogant about it. Just my thoughts

always helps with a pretty nice inheritance from the inlaws.

Frankly I didnt care one way or another about him, till he became the regions biggest rate cutter. Went to local mill and slashed rehaul yard rate by over 10% and gave free loading to keep his trucks working. That kinda crap isnt forgotten. Interestingly enough the mill he did that with has now banned his trucks from their yards.

The mill has a trucking coordinator, they dispatch all movement from rehaul yards to the mill.
