Re: Question about Log Truck Drivers.

When my dad was a teenager he started driving log truck in Kenora. His stories are crazy. He jumped out of his truck in the one pic.

All the easy ground is gone here... now they get the nasties. That old saying its a slippery slope. Most of those owner drivers have about 3 truck radios and 2 of my handhelds sitting in there.

But seriously, do the chains just make it that easy or how the dark do you stay on them roads?
Chains help for sure but good tire and the weight being carried also helps

Re: Question about Log Truck Drivers.

I chased the rigs up around tumbler ridge, chetwynd area a few years ago. We used to run our welding trucks fast and hard on those roads. But the log trucks were insane! It was amazing more of them donít die!
No more snow mud now please!

One thing they have going for them down there is they only run 5 axle rigs with 8'6" bunks, tandem truck, tandem trailer, but us stupid buggers in Canada run 7, 8 and now they are approving 9 axle rigs, all with 9'6" bunks. I think they are allot smarter down there.
