Been there! 2 diesel pumps and 6 other gas pumps at the Petro near my place and most times some idiot is sitting at the D pump filling with gas. The station has an A&W attached and more than once I have been there when the guy then proceeds to walk around and go get his burger before moving. Lost my sh*t on a couple of them....

I will avoid the gas/diesel pumps if the gas only pumps are available...if all the gas only pumps are in use I will fill at the gas/diesel pumps. Lots of times the gas only pumps become available while I'm filling my 130 litre tank at the gas/diesel pump. If a diesel owner came and lost his **** on me in that scenario...well they would get it right back twice as bad. (unless they were twice as big as me LOL)

I’ve been there too...filling up my pickup blocking the diesel pump and surrounded by small cars filling their small tanks then disappearing....or the diesel island is the easiest one to get the truck into....either way, I’ll fill up and be on my way, and if some douchebag in a diesel thinks I’m blocking the pump that he feels should be kept clear in case he needs to use it, he can kiss my hairy beanbag.....talk about feeling entitled!

While on the subject of fueling stations, there are also the people who can't seem to figure out that if they are fueling on the left pump, then they should be close to THAT pump not lost in the middle between two islands. Was horrible when I had the dually. Occasionally fantasize about mounting a "50 caliber style" paintball gun to the vehicle I'm driving that would help send out a quick reminder to morons. A James Bond type hidden one might be better though :)

So you disagree ?? That's fine.

Yes I disagree.

If some diesel driver thinks I should wait in line at the gas only pumps while a gas/diesel pump is available...well, yes I think that diesel driver might feel entitled.

Couldn't agree more, if the place is busy then all bets are off. Sadly the norm is that most of the gas pumps are open and the guy takes the gas/diesel pump just because it is on the outside and he saw it first without thinking. I guess alot of people would never think of that if they have never owned a diesel and been the guy waiting for 15 minutes for the fill/clean windows/clean out garbage/get a burger/walk around like a complete idiot process.....

Either way, when you are done filling move the damn vehicle out of the way for the next guy.

Why? Because I don’t think that everyone should plan their day or drop everything and move when a diesel pickup owner arrives on scene? He can wait just like everyone else does.

Common courtesy of employees checking first to make sure it’s not busy before making appointments for the day and telling you they are leaving at such and such a time. It gets old fast.

wonder what they would do f you say no.

Can’t find any employees either?

Haha most of the guys that work for us are great, have a good crew right now. But finding new people is always challenging though, because if you're any good you probably already have a job.

Just seems like there is a lot of dirt bags kicking around Red Deer, and Calgary is even worse.

**** getting stolen or vandalized, goofs screaming at you at the lights while they push a shopping cart full of bottles and camping gear.

I grew up in Alberta, it was never this bad, not even close 20 years ago.

I’ve been turning down work in gp. Not because I don’t want the work but finding good, ticketed tradesman is becoming impossible. Not worth the stress. Taking on the extra work then not making deadlines. Sounds crazy I know but. Hiring one crackhead can set a business back a tonne. And tarnish a company name.

I'm so sick of these people who think they are home builders and know what they are doing when they don't have a fawking clue. If you are so dahm experienced stop asking me to do all this extra chit and have to tell you how everything works. Also newsflash everyone is busy, you are no more important then any other customer, and no, i'm not putting anyone else off to help you out. Jobs are done in the order booked, not because "you need it done really bad". Last time I checked permits are at least 2 months, maybe try booking then, not a week or two before you want to start. People who can start a job next day can do so for a reason, reputable companies are booking a month out plus.

And lastly, don't text me at 10:30 at night and expect me to reply.

I've given up trying to find anyone to run anything more then a shovel. It's a waste of time. Trying to find someone competent and takes care of equipment? Pretty much impossible. I'd rather do less work and run it all myself, then have non stop headaches and equipment beat to chit.
