Why is it that the first cold snap and a small percentage of drivers decide to drive like dicks, 4 hours on the road today, semi hauling fuel tried to take me out, and got to see a chev Malibu in full drift. Semi was an old timer being a dick not a new Canadian.

This is not news. It happens all the time and winter makes it worse. I have been swearing while on the road for the last two days. I wish Alberta would make it law that you had to have winter tires and actually enforce it.

Not enough Govt money to tackle that job.

Winter tires mandatory in BC. Drove 20 km yesterday there were 3 vehicles in the ditch. Two of them before I left the town limits. Winter tires, studs, and/or chains won't help the idiots. Just got to live with it and shake your head. I have never seen them enforce winter tires out here. I hear a rumour that if you are in an accident the police have to investigate that they will charge you then.

Getting pretty common around here to have big road check blitz's in October. The other thing is if your in an accident and ICBC can prove that you didnt have proper winter tires and that was a contributing factor in the accident they can either void your insurance or bill back damage's to you.

Was over in Germany thought they had a good system, close to the same as ICBC,, If you are in a accident your fault or not and you do not have the proper tires you have no insurance (winter tires in summer or summer tires in winter or even bald tires)

New Canada or Old Canada... every dumb ass person should
learn to drive on dirt roads. My kids actually know how to drive.

Parking in the country is easy!!

If you own a tow company winter is the best.

Sort of like snow removal companies.

Does not excuse the semi driver for being a dick but.... You think you had a bad 4 hour drive. i bet that old timer had to deal with 100 more dick heads then you and i did. I feel sorry for big rig drivers. Trying to handle a new immigrant driver in front of you while your hauling a 53 footer and have to slam on the binders...no thanks, ill deal with the few retards that get in my way from time to time. Kudos to you big rig boys...Your all friggen nuts!

Two semis in the ditch at 3 valley gap. Many other idiots driving too fast or too slow and not letting others pass.

The sad truth is our road systems are old, too small, over capacity and in the mountains especially, poorly designed and 50 years out of date. Add to that poor weather and inexperienced/immigrant drivers and things just go for $hit.

How about 3rd generation BC'ers, who still can't drive in the mountains. It isn't just immigrant people.

Well,.. I work for a certain lumber company and at least 4 out of 5 truckers are brown, barely speak english and haul to shipping ports in BC. They also have straight pipes on their trucks and like to use their jake brakes in the lumber yard going the posted 30km speed limit or lower. The local brownies are also barely speak english, are trained by Minhas and also have their tests inhouse done for them through a translator,... so I have been informed.

Friend of mines wife was killed by a driver who was driving without a drivers license and could not speak English. They claim it was the other one who was driving who had the license....all lies but no way to prove it.
