We use helical pier systems a lot for about the last 12 years, they never disappoint.
They did about 2500 piles on the last job - on time ,zero issues and zero incident.

KNS was going to come and do my 2 piles in my backyard for my second storey deck. he had no problem with it. I haven't had him do them yet because I needed my gas line moved but he said give him a day or two notice and he'll be there.

While we’re on the subject of screw piles, can they be used as a base for pole shed poles?

I see no reason why not, but I am not an engineer. I've seen screw piles used for pretty much everything that was once concrete.

I have my 40' seacans sitting on six screw piles per. Been 6+ years and they haven't moved

Are these screw piles grouted in after installation or just the piles screwed in with steel plates welded on top?

Screw piles are just screwed in, if ground is too hard they can be predrilled. They are usually just tightened to a certain torque and done. They can be filled depending on engineering requirements. We install big oilfield compressors on screw piles with no fill. Bridges and structures are evaluated individually for load bearing requirements.

Concrete piles under my deck were not done correctly and frostjacking badly. Is there a screwpile machine that would be able to get into relatively confined space? Deck is about 6-1/2' off grade but I've only got 4' width to the neighbors fence.

I worked for HPS as an installer for 5 years and we had a skid steer for tight areas like that. The nice thing about it is it had a bit of a jib on it for reaching in to tight areas like that. That being said to do a job with only 6.5' clearance you would need to install a short pile with a few short extensions depending on how deep you have to go to reach torque.
