About 1.3 million Ford trucks in North America are being recalled due to an issue with side doors. The recall affects Ford F-150s from the 2015-2017 model years and 2017 Super Duty vehicles. There are about 222,408 of these vehicles in Canada.
The issue is with a frozen door latch or bent or kinked actuation cable may cause a door to not open or close. Someone who opens and closes the doors may think that the door is indeed closed, but the latch may not be fully engaged. The door could open while driving, causing potential injury.
A water shield needs to be installed over door latches along with an inspection and, if needed, repair to the door latch actuation cables.
Ford is not aware of any injuries or accidents related to the problem.

Not to completely change the subject, but........my dad, who is well into his seventies, bought a '12 Ford Superduty, new. Almost from the start the passenger seat made a noise like someone bending an aluminum can. The sh*t for brains dealer couldn't figure it out, or didn't want to. Mindful, that no one hardly ever drove this pickup, or wanted to, but him (as of now only 40000 miles on it). So a few days ago this pickup got passed down to an employee (poor bastard), and the old man got something that didn't ride so terrible. The guy who got it was looking under the pickup, and the floor was cracked out, actually broken off, in a rectangle around the back mounting bolt for the passenger seat. It's not like someone ever really baja'd it, or any fat person ever sat in that seat. Typical POS. After the Explorer exhaust gas issue, and the old man's favorite ass kissing dealer closed up shop, I don't think they'll be getting any more Fords.
