There are conflicting reports now. He defiantly had a cardiac arrest but now some of the reports for earlier have been retracted.

Apparently found not breathing and no heartbeat. Medics got his heart restarted but unfortunately too late for a recovery. Life support unhooked and it appears he has passed. I prefer to think of it as he is simply runnin' down a dream.

Tom petty radio all day long. Dam he brings back some great memories. Not good news at all. So sad rip.

Well if it is a normal source of news, it can be expected to be reasonably accurate. Precise time of Mr. Petty's death is not really critical information to anyone but the coroner. In a few weeks time the precise date will not be critical. The only item of note is that at the age of he has left us too soon. Thanks Tom for leaving us great music catalogue that was the result of some 4 decades of your hard work.

Pretty sad. I watched his biography a couple of months ago on Netflix and was just practicing one of his songs on the weekend.
