Does anyone know of a place or is there even places in edmonton where someone could take the tools to be washed or to wash them? Mechanic tools that is mine have got pretty dirty over the winter and would like to do a really good clean on them.

Thanks

Degreaser works good.
Brake clean works awesome.

That's what I use to clean mine. Why pay someone when it's easy to do yourself.

I use to head down to finning and use there parts washer...anything scumbed up from rolling around in the truck including tools went in and came out shiny.
There's also a bath house in Edmonton but I'm thinking they clean a different type of tool.

Wait till the wife isn't home and put them in the dishwasher. Spotless
:)
Don't you wipe your tools down before putting them back in the box ?

I don't know about anyone else, but after spending a part of a winter as a leasehand on a service rig. I AM SICK of cleaning tools lol, that and the smell of varsol. I find that a Parts washer won't get them clean once the solvent gets messy. Varsol and a coarse bristle brush does the best. Be sure to blast with compressed air in the nooks and crannies to gent excess out, and oil them back up. Rusty tools are worse then dirty tools.

Not a bad question on cleaning actually.
Since I parked my tool box and only use it to fix the sxs it does seem some tools in the draws get covered with a dust and not sure what.

When a drawer is not opened for a few years it's surprisingly dirty.

Some of us just have more respect for tools. It is called a lively hood. If that is being a fawktard then so be it. It is why my tools don't get lent out.
