I'm sure most of us are aware of the "new" party that may be formed in Alberta.

In the news lately is a memo that has been found that was sent through the AB teachers union, the substance of which was to become a member of the Wildrose party and vote AGAINST the joining of the two parties.

To counter this shady tactic, I suggest that we use this memo from me....to also join the Wildrose and vote FOR the joining of the two parties. Forward to your conservative friends, etc. A one year membership is only 10 bucks and allows you to vote.

What's everyones thoughts on this merger?
Ive been hearing lots of talk that people are afraid the NDP will get in another term because of it. I guess it will depend on who leads the new party, I really like what Brian Jean brings to the table and Ive been following him way more closely than kenny. Imo kenny is a ghost on social media and on the radio.

I believe they are having a general leadership election for leader after the merger, who knows maybe neither one of them will be the leader of the ucp. At this point I think step one is to get the merger done as per op's information.

I hope everyone that wants a unified right will take this seriously and purchase the 2 memberships. Remember, the Wildrose need 75% approval to make this happen. The PC party only needs 50%+1. Don't leave it to your neighbour. Buy memberships and vote for unity!

If this merger doesn't happen, the NDP will get in again.

Care to explain? Thats why Im asking, I heard their side now on the merger, now I wanna hear the other side.


Anyone hear of the alberta separatists party trying to be formed?

Alberta is mostly right leaning conservative....we have two right leaning conservative parties: Wildrose and Progressive Conservatives. In the last election, the reason the NDPs won was because the right vote was split AND lots of people voted NDP as "punishment" towards the PCs, not thinking the NDP would win. This will happen again if they don't join.

Agreed, 100%.
There is no doubt that there is fear of another NDP term. 120 bucks for a 1 year membership. Done.

I agree if this merger doesn't happen NDP will be back period. If merger happens NDP will be lucky to get a couple seats...

I'm willing to bet if the merger happens ndp gets in again. I know many people that find the wild Rose way to religious and right. Most conservative party voters i know don't like kenny at all.
Going to be an interesting ride.

I'm not sure who the leader will be if it passes? I personally like Kenney. He started this movement and had the most to lose in the whole process. He was known as the hardest working MP in the federal Conservative party. I like Jean as well even though he is a pathetic speaker in the same realm as a Justin Turdeau. It looked like a slam dunk for Jean early on but his stock is dropping now fairly fast with his power grab in the delegation process on how the party will look. A lot of Wildrose big wigs are not happy with him right now including the association president Jeff Callaway. Some Wildrosers are talking no to unity now unless Jean tones it down. Its extremely important to get involved if you want unity. Nothing can be taken for granted.

She would have won the term before that as well if it weren't for the Lake Of Fire comment as well. Now there seems to be that happening all over again with the whole Cody Johnson walking in the Pride parade and the negative comments by a few members in regards to that. Charles Adler absolutely roasted Jean and Kenney for not marching in that parade last night on his show. Notley is making political gain over it as well calling them both cowards.
