Did my own research and confirmed that this guy is indeed F W. It's sad in todays society that it goes to this extent. I guess it easier to look at videos of random people all day than actually doing some work. (I post them for friends to see not strangers) .. There are people that are doing actual crimes or companies that are pillaging our trees, polluting the air destroying animal habitat yet lets waste our efforts on people that ride quads for recreation.

Now that you know its for real I wouldn't go about destroying evidence that they may already know about especially cell phone stuff because they will just get it straight from your provider, that could be considered tampering with evidence, also they already have probable cause to look further because of the posted videos. A good buddy of mine is going thorough this as we speak its not quad related but hunting and is way further along in the investigation, They have no real proof, nine months of investigating, questioning, harassing, offered him a one year hunting suspension as a plea bargain, his lawyer says its all smoke because the co's wont disclose there file. keep dragging there feet, but are bringing him into court for the second time in november. Makes a law abiding guy feel like your guilty till you prove yourself innocent.

Protecting fish habitat is f+w job. If you were not in fresh water you have nothing to worry about.
If you were in a creek I hope you get fined. Riding in creeks is dumb, posting videos is even dumber.

wonder if the RC's or F and W are putting the same amount of effort/manpower into finding out who strung the barb wire up across the trails in porcupine hills earlier this year,,,,
Hell no. Might get one of their tree hugging hippy over-lords in trouble. Even if they were caught all they would get is a slap on the wrist.
Probably have them doing community service putting up more barbed wire to take out the evil OHV'ers.

I do the same. I'm not on FB, so when I get pics and vid of a weekend I put it on Youtube and send an email to my buds that were there. I don't get thousands of views....usually about 10....

Edit: and to be clear, we like mud. But my gang (and buds on here; you know who you are) is very conscious of the rules regarding streams, lakes, etc and NONE of us ride or wash machines in them. I will say, that occasionally we do a creek crossing, and we all go slow A to B across...I shut my camera off every time as there is just no need to have the vid misconstrued.

It would appear the added resources are going into a " make quadders look bad campaign " as apposed to a sustainable trail & education model .
No surprise there ....!

The "new mandate" from notely, phillips, berman etc along with the support of y2y and other "special interest groups" on down is to vindicate the closure of the eastern slopes. As of late they've "felt pressure/ pushback" hence the "research"...
Right wrong or indifferent it comes down to how many thousands or tens of thousands of videos did they scour to find " this gem" ...... Which at this point may or may not contain "LOGISTICAL EVIDENCE".??.".. I'd suspect for now at least they were looking for an admission...
My point here still is if you own an OHV you will at least from their perspective be painted with the same brush...
This of course goes deeper see " land use issues"...

You're totally right Ron. They are doing what they do best - slinging mud at anyone who opposes them. We are desperately trying to demonstrate that we can change with the times but they are intent on dredging up the past. I guess it's time to write some more letters.

Just so we don't get a hate on for all authority, I have a friend who is a Fish-Cop and he is a sledder and loves power sports. He does not side with the NDP on their views but he does say he is forced to give fines, not pressured from above so-much, but more by guys so badly abusing the laws by openly poaching, purposefully destroying natural areas, riding completely drunk etc.

The stories he has told me would blow you away.

He does not go looking for problems or hassle guys, the infractions are blatant and often repeat offences.

the AB FW have been doing this for the past 3-4 yrs. we may be seeing more of it now, because they have hired more help to look into this. also there are several thousand volunteers in the general public that feel it is there duty to turn anyone in that is doing anything they don't like, just read a few posts on this site.

get used to it there is a lot more coming down the pipe.

this I can believe, I've always had the attitude that if you are stopped and you co-operate (yes sir, no sir, here's my paperwork sir etc) and are all in check they will have no reason to throw the book at you. However if you are belligerent, or give them attitude then they will start handing out the fines.

Just Like the general population, some people are decent and some
people are pricks. When it comes to "authority" pray you never
have to deal with a prick.

Very good point. My Dad worked his whole career for Alberta Fish and Wildlife....as a biologist. We had many family friends from the enforcement side and they were all camper/fishermen/hunters/sledders themselves. (quads were not invented when I was a kid eh) Many a good campfire story of handing out tickets to guys who TRULY deserved them. "Uncle Frank" and "Uncle Bud", both RIP were my Dad's best friends, and F&W Officers. ....to this day I am friends with Uncle Franks son.....
