Anyone ever live in mayerthorpe? Likes/dislikes about it? Currently working a camp job and the wife isn't working I don't necessarily need to find a job there, and it seems like a nice location on the map but I've never really spent any time there. Any of the nearby lakes any good for fishing or jet skiing? Looking online it seemed like they were mostly just shallow besides maybe wab and lac Ste Anne.

Farming, hunting and cowboys... what kind of person are you? Town is not really anything to speak of. Whitecourt is closest major centre. More importantly what does your wife want if you are not home.

Well she has friends in whitecourt and the city so she's decently close to visit both, or at least closer then we are now in Bonnyville. Lived at least 20 minutes from the nearest small town our whole lives so we're used to not having much in town and having to drive for anything more than the necessities. mainly just wanted to know if it was a dying ghost town/crime hotspot/county that hates ohvs or anything like that.

In town or rural mayerthorpe area?? In town is not great. Terrible water, gravel streets and crackheads. Rural is not bad. Lakes are mud bottom sloughs but the sledding and atv's are good to go

It would be out of town, I can't stand having neighbours super close.

Housing costs lower in that area, they have very nice hospital, Co-op grocery store, basic seceities but close to more, the Paddle dam just south of town has boating and fishing, not a dying town, developing south of hiway and calling it gasoline alley north. As far as places for sale out of town limits not much of a selection.

Ya not much for sale for acreages. The stuff that is for sale though seems realistically priced though compared to most acreages around here.
