Anyone ever have a washing machine explode? The wife and I are in the living room and here what sounds like something big falling but it gets worse and worse then stops. She gets up to find out what it was and says holy fawk. I get up and this is what I see. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1473045826.454735.jpg

Puts a bunch of holes in the drywall as well. She gets on with live chat with Samsung and they say unplug it and don't touch it until their tech guy comes and inspects it. I think there was just a blanket or something in their the wife was washing. Nothing major and it wasn't to one side or anything. Wtf?

Something was severely out of balance to cause it to bounce around so violently. Is there a counter weight in those? I know our front load washer has cement counter weight mounted on the frame.

If I were you, I would take out what ever you were washing.....this way they can't blame you for having an unbalanced load. Make the excuse that you needed the items that were in there and were not able to leave them for days until the tech guy gets there.

Nope not touching a thing. If their guy says something was our fault that would be a bad mistake. Even if something was unbalanced a machine should be designed not to explode. If someone was standing there loading the dryer or reaching into the cabinets above they would have been hurt pretty bad. I'll have to go look at the broken piece of drywall again to know for sure but the top hole is at head height

your call.......usually when it comes to a shaking washing machine, its loaded improperly or not balanced correctly when set in place at the house. Perhaps something broke inside causing it to shake?....I hope so for your sake.
I assume you took out the shipping bolts....balanced it properly?

I saw on the news where their (Samsung) new phone will explode, melt, and/or catch fire. Apparently, from the batteries.

Maybe Samsung needs a little more supervision in the laundry manufacturing assembly line.

Really do I need to take a pic for some of you?? The washing machine has been in the same spot for 4 years. Nothing strange about the load. Umm yeah I would say the shipping bolts were removed when it was delivered 4 years ago and set up.

I think the new machine will be a different brand. We will see what these guys want to do about it first.

We were around the corner from the washing machine. No noise like that thing. You can barely hear them when they are running and at first it sounding like the cat was in the bedroom and knocked something over. Then something big getting knocked over. Took about 5 seconds total.

That's silly how that came apart.

Does Tammy have to wash in an old wash pail and scrub board, before the new one gets there? lol

Cant wait too long. I won't do another one of those basturds myself. They kinda got heavy over the last years. If it doesn't get resolved quickly we will just go out and buy a new one and have it delivered. They make the pedestal for these too. I kinda wonder what damage it would have done if it was on a pedestal a foot higher.

In June we picked up a new Samsung top load. Brought it home and couldn't get it past the set up mode. It would violently shake in any spin mode. Read some reviews after and alot of people would set up boat bumpers to protect their walls. The one we got had an obvious flaw so I took it back and got a heavy azz front loader which has been good. Congratulations on getting four years. Thankfully no one got hurt. Give it to Samsung as best you can!
