I recall two 15 year olds killing a cat in a microwave at a house party about 10 years ago. ...story still makes me sick to my stomach. All the fuggers got was 100 hours of community service and a restriction from owning a pet for 2 years. What a frigg'n joke!

A guy I worked with was family friends with those kids. The family had to move out of camrose because of that. I know "it's just a cat" to some but if someone did that to my cat or any cat and I found them I wouldnt call the cops

Yeah that's just horrible and twisted. I dont like cats at all but that's just wrong and should be harshly punished.

It's not right but I struggle with the attention stuff like this gets. Every year at this Jamboree, multiple women are sexually assaulted and they don't get even near the press. Not even close. Bash away but I really struggle with the high regard society has placed on animals nowadays.

I didn't hear of any rapes at this years Jamboree. I mean Murray tried to rape me but I yelled Rape multiple times and ran away. On a more serious note it shouldn't matter if it is a person or an animal. These animals can't defend themselves against these morons. No different then that woman and her child that were murdered but that f'n idiot recently. Instead of these people being "treated" they should just be shot on the spot after being found guilty. Done deal. Just like most stuff now there are very little consequences unless you call someone a name. Only then are you in big trouble.

Shouldn't matter if it's an animal or a person? I agree there should be consequences for both but comparing human life and emotion to that of an animals is absurd. Makes me sick actually that a lot of people think this way. Sorry man. Just my opinion.

Why is it disturbing? I find the fact that some people don't give a **** about animals disturbing too.

It is a pathetic story, but as was said, compared to what else goes on at Craven, it's about par for the course unfortunately. THe worst party of this whole story is what wasn't mentioned - organizers appear to have tried to keep this as quiet as possible to minimize the press on the jamboree.

In my younger years we went to Craven. Had fun and enjoyed it and crushed more than our share of Pilsners, but it's definitely evolved into something where I wouldn't be surprised if country acts were hesitant to come to because of it's reputation.

I was at this years Craven Music Festival, not the Craven I remember back in the 90's. The names where not released of the two that burnt that kitten because the RCMP did not want to arrest people for doing what they wanted to happen. We had a police officer camping close we played drinking games with. Using air soft guns. That is another story. There was a lot of hate and anger at the festival. One group flew a confederate flag and shouted racsits slurs at those who where not white as they walked by. I remember shouthing other things that usually involved showing body parts. One night dancing with my wife in the beer gardens more than a few of us noticed a sketchy looking guy eye balling a couple of younger girls, he bolted like a flushed whitetail when he realized he was being watched. Not drinking, looks like a terrorist, acts like a predator and made the wife feel creeped out. Yeah Craven is not the Craven of the early years. The rodeo was decent, some great young talent working their way up the ranks into the PBR. But I think it is dying a slow death as it is attracting the wrong crowd now.
