Lots of variables... Insulation/cover/temperature.....

I noticed very little difference in my bill when I put mine in last year, pretty sure my water trough for the horses eats up a lot more juice than my hot tub...

I would guess my hot tub costs me about $60/month in power and chemicals.... now the new spa pack was a kick in the nards at $1150

But after a day of sledding the cost is irelevant and soooooo worth it...

same as title

Mines an older one (2000-ish), but seems to be very well insulated, when I had a malfunction last year after 3 days down in -15 to -25 she only dropped down to 73 degrees

is it a new one? size?

the new ones come with tons of power saving features etc. some of the older ones drank the power i know that much

Just in power about $25-30. Chemicals not sure. I don't believe it is $60 per month for everything. If you have an ozonator it will reduce the chemical usage. It also depends how much you use it.

mine is about 3 years old and from my last bill comparison I figured ours was between $30-35/month. Like rubirose suggested buy the ozonator and you wont have to worry about chemicals. We use zero chemicals. Some put a small shot of shock every two weeks but I personally find it un-necessary

We have a 740 Beachcomber for last 10yrs I estimate it less than a case of beer/month in power. Chemical costs me less than 50 bucks a year. Couldnt keep up with all the recommended beach combers chemicals and use my own blend now and waters never been better.

I have a old beachcomber and used spray can insulation everywhere I could spay it and a layer of 2" blue steroform under it and a 4" thick lid and the heat from the motor in the summer makes it to hot to use ' had to open the motor/pump box up for cooling ' $50-$60 a month all in sounds about right

People who buy a hot tube are not to concerned about power usage in the first place, i bet 10% of them would know how much they are paying per kwh..... it is up to 10.19 cents, of coarse if you could keep it to the 6.8 cents first tier..which you won't, the bill would be way cheaper (BC prices). Let just say you were from alberta and you used 750 kw extra in the winter months and it was 9.5 cents a kwh.

We have an 18 year old beachcomber 10 man hottub....... About $40 -$50 average per month in chemicals, power, and water(every 3 months -- clean and refill)....... Obviously less in the summer and more in the winter..... Get a good cover, and that will be your biggest savings

Had a new dynasty spas tub and I increased my power bill $20-30 per month depending how cold and how long it stayed really cold. Just a drop in the hat in the big scheme of things.

My parents figured it averaged out over the year to a dollar a day electricity wise.

Chemicals are less than $50 a year....???
You should try filling that thing with water! It's way better!
Filter wash is $30 a jug and you might get three washs out of it so at every two mouths that is $60 alone!

I agree, I spend as much on chemicals as I do on power, Everytime I change my water its about $60, then the new filter is $35, bucket of pucks costs $40 and is good for about 3 months.... I know lots of people use an ozonator which reduces chemical use but mine chit the bed and too be honest I don't mind chemicals.....better than human stew....

Keep the water properly maintained is very important. We have a ozanator in ours but still use proper chemicals.

Really the enjoyment of the hottub,,not what it costs.

I'd be interested in hearing what you use. I feel like I make Beachcomber-chemical soup every day since we got the hot tub in May.
