So the original question was "How much to run a hot tub in the winter" The only right answer is all of the time, cause you can't even pretend that you are going to take one out of service and drain it successfully with no fear of freezing damage during the winter. You either want one or you don't! There aint no halfway with this.

that seems high.... I priced one out yesterday and it's $600 from beachcomber or I can get one from one of the aftermarket guys (some of them have very good customer reviews) for around $400. and mine is an odd corner cut off shaped thing....

We just put ours back into service sunday, we don't use it in the summer....

Next weekend I'm building a gazebo roof over it...

We have an arctic that is 2 years old and I would say 40.00 a month averaged out over the year. We go in it at least 7-10 times a week. Also one thing to consider is the insulation sprayed in like a beachcomber or the arctic style. I know when one of the lights leaked this summer I was sure happy that I could find it. Hope this helps.

Kozy Kover in edmonton. Started out @ $650 , $60 shipping , $35 cover lift straps , $25 for some foam that lasts longer.
My cover is not flat, it has two raised speakers in back. From Dy-nasty it was 750ish anyway but those fawk tards was 4 week delivery.

We have a 8 person coast spa that is factory foam insulated underneath, before the gazzebo (which we bought used off of Kijiji) we used a canvas tarp over the whole tub so the vented heat is trapped under the canvas and the UV kept off the cover, have taken the cover apart (in the summer) dried out foam and re covered in plastic to keep the mosture out. Cover is 10 years old and still going....even in the gazeebo the tarp stays on.

Our Ozanator died around year 3 didnt notice a change in chemical use so choose not to replace it and spent the 350 bucks on ????

On the farm with two auto waterer's a shop, garage( always welding something) and a older house we didnt really notice the hot tub...

We use regular bleach to soak the filters in, my dad had 25 fish tanks at one point and thats all he used to soak filters in(man I hate fish tanks, never want to have to clean another tank)....took a plastic tube glued a cap on one end fill with 75% water 25% bleach, after the filter is in, stick another cap with a small vent hole on the top, rinse with water before and after and soak....change the filter once a month...
