The closest Crown/Public Land is Brerheim, in the Lamout/Strathcona Area and The Redwater Natural Area, in the Sturgen County, East of The Town of Redwater. and of cource you could try the H H A Mud Hole, if itis still open????

Keshia,

There is an ATV club starting up in the Spruce Grove/Stony Plain area, they are called the Yellowhead Overlanders () Also there is the Lac St Anne ATV Club (Contact Ecko Marine for more information)

hope this helps.

Sorry you are going to have to face it head on, to get any good riding in you are going to have to spend thousands of dollars on an RV, and a truck and travel a few hours from Edmonton just like the rest of us.lol Or find yourself a boyfriend who happens to already have all these things.

Long Island Lake just North of Westlock is a pretty decent spot. There's a little of everything out there except mud ...there's not a little mud, there's a lot. The Brazeau Dam is not too far either. Vega is also a pretty nice spot. Unless, Hells Half Acre is accessible, you're probably gonna have to drive about an hour to find anything decent.

Welcome to the Site and happy trails!

Yeah we were just at long lake and there was a lot of muddy area's, especially after the hard rain on saturday, made it interesting for sure going up and down those steeper hills. All good though. Oh that reminds me better wash the grizz soon, get it all nice and clean for the next trip out.

Hells Half Acre, Take Yellow head west to RR30 turn north, go for 3.1 km and on the east side is a small staging area.
This place is only 20 mins from spruce grove. Small mud realatively flat but you could easily spend a day there.

i live right in spruce and probably the best trails i have come across is the cn trails. basically if you dont get caught you can stage right out of stony plain and head west but if you dont want to run into cops just head out to one of the range roads west of town and stage off right by the tracks and head west. we have made it to wabamun and just filled up at that gas station. stay on the north side of the tracks till you get to carvel then kick over to the south side. it gets more challenging once you pass duffield. the only other thing i can recomend is to stop if a train is coming and wait til it passes
other than that have fun

Unless it comes up behind you, pushing your twisted body across the ties until your a bloody fusion of meat and quad parts.
Sounds like a good time though.
Cheers!!

So you know you are tresspassing right? It is also extremely dangerous to even be beside the tracks when a train passess. Even CN workers(I was told once by a person who works there) that you should always be at least a train cars lenght away from tracks in case of derailment.

wish people would stop giving out these directions as a quadding area that whole place has gotten f#$cked up by too many machines maybe we should come and ride the sh$t out of your back yard and cut all the fences cuz some retards get stuck and need a quick way out ...and a dead end isn't always a staging area
