Hi,
My name is Mike Bradford, I am the Sub Leader for the Junior Forest Rangers out of Long Lake Center, Athabasca and we are eager to get our crew certified in operator competency on quads.
The Junior Forest Rangers is a work experience program for students interested in a career in forestry. As we are trying to get them into a career understanding how to operate a quad safely would be a great boost for their resume and help them to be safer quaders in the future.
Last year the JFR crew worked with Brian McNally who needed training hours so in exchange for operator competency certification course we cleared a few trails for him. The ESRD has been kind enough to lend us quads in order for our 8 students to get their certification. In this we would be willing to work out an exchange for anyone willing to help this group of eager young adults learn how to quad safely and effectively.
If anyone has any information to help us out this summer around Athabasca and region we would greatly appreciate it. I can be reached either by a thread here or my fancy government email detailed below.
More information can be found on the following website to what we do and so you know we are not a scam.

Thanks for reading,

Mike Bradford Sub Leader

I helped Adam and Jenny-Lee out last Summer. When are you thinking you'd like to get this done?

Also, I had to do this out-of pocket last year. I don't suppose there's anyone out there willing to pay $500 for a day of JRF services just to help me recoup my expenses?

I think emailing him directly might be faster Dean, but that's just my thoughts. Also whats it take for a ride-along? I'm still thinking I want to get certified as an instructor.

A ride-along would be no problem. I'll keep you posted once I know more.

Hi whoDEANie,
I have heard great things about the course last year and as I mentioned in my email, hoping for July 17. As for anyone who wants to help sponsor we are more than happy to recoup those expenses as a group of 10 hard workers with young backs, trail maintance, limbing and bucking, chopping fire wood our quality services are quite diverse. I will keep an eye on this thread and you have my email, just be warned if we are late to reply it doesnt mean we are not interested it just means we are living the rustic life at Long Lake after office hours.
Thanks again all!
