Hi, Im have been riding in Valemount for 20 years and this is so much better if you know where to go than anything Mcbride has to offer. We can hook up, I can show you where the locals ride. Joe

McBride

joepallos, I think both ranges have a lot to offer. I'm partial to McBride and have to believe that you have not been to all the right places in McBride. That being said, they are very different riding areas with different skill sets required.

I agree with sledbunnyracing on this on although you would never hear me complain heading to either one. They are boyh very good riding areas for all abilities if you know where your going!

dude you obviously haven't ridden much of mcbride. from my experience in both areas( family lives in the robson valley) mcbride has way more riding than valemount, is much more technical, climbs are bigger and steeper, and the snow is deeper. that's why you haven't ridden until you ride Mcbride!!!

Sounds great I have only rode a few areas I'll take you up on the offer, sounds like fun! Has there been any more snow in the last week?

I'll answer for Joe. Stayed at his place Friday night, rode Allen on Saturday. No real new snow. Some untracked but you had to hunt for it in the places you can only get to with the hero snow we had. Great ride, but if it was deep you were looking for , nothing. Renshaw same story, wind blown hero snow.

Thanks for the update MXOldtimer. We rode Sicamous and Golden over the weekend and had pretty good snow.
McBride, how far back did you have to go to find some playable snow?

:D :D :D
If you are into the bush bashing and pioneering thing, snochuk and the boys probably left a few square meters if you turn left at km 19 at Renshaw. We aren't so we headed over the staircase, turned right and looked at the alpine east of the waterfall. Nah, headed for the notch, turned right and dropped into the big bowls just before the notch. Decent snow, but serious consequenses if a lapse in judgement over comes your ability. We had a great ride, just not the fresh snow we have come to expect. Clear skies, no wind, not enough fuel or daylight.

Crushing Creek Ridge was not touched as of Sunday night(5KM past Spirit Lake),we tried for every patch we had gas for but spent part of the afternoon towing out a blown chain case. :thumbsdownm: . Bush bashing was tight....tore another set of handguards off:rant:  ...oh ya...they are just wind deflectors:doh:
