Howdy! I hope everyone had a super Christmas. I'm excited to have found a local forum! I just got back into snowmobiling after a couple of years. I'm in central alberta and looking for people to ride with, so if your interested, let me know! :)

I'm riding a '98 RMK 600. I haven't been out to the mountains yet, but thats my goal. I'm slowly outfitting myself properly so I can go out prepared and safely.

Mountains

Have a tow rope and a buddy. I belive there is a story on the site from this past weekend where a group rescued a sled quite a ways back in the mountains. Me, I take Summitric who comes with all the tools you could ever want, a tow rope and a smile.

Know you ridding buddy, they could save your ride.

Hello Maestro, it is good that you are making sure that you are prepared for the mountains. One thing that I would make sure you do is when you get a beacon play around with it until you are comfortable using it, there are alot of people out there that have them but do not know how to use them. Hopefully you get up to the mountains soon because there is no riding like it, have a good one.

hey Maestro,

If you are looking for some local riding, the caroline area is nice, lots of trails and areas to go and play in. Great practise for heading to the bigger mountain area's. The folks in the Caroline snowclub have some very nice folks that will even show you around! Definately worth a call if you want to go fairly local. :) I think someone mentioned Quad ruts? There are usually a few of those, Would be nice if the quads left our snow alone!! (ya i know i just made some 4x4ing peeps angry )
