hello everybody. i just got myself an old machine to try out the whole sledding expieriance.
i have a 1993 skidoo formula z 583
( i know, i know, that much horsepower may be too hard for me to handle:D )
i just couldnt pass it up as it is like brand new. i wont be trying the mountain experiance yet because of the machine and my experieance.
any way i am out in the stony plain alberta area and am hopeing for lots of snow.

Hi Marcel welcome to THE site. When I was the ASA president I think I had a 94 formula z 583. Is it purple in color? That was a very good sled. Probally the fastest 580 series sled I ever drove. 100 MPH was just a quick little buzz across the lake. Good luck on that sled you got a good one.

its actually red, however the graphics on the side is a fairly ugly purple that i dont agree with, however the condition of the sled outwieghs the look.

ITS VERY EASY, WITH A HEAT GUN AND PATIENCE, TO REMOVE THE GRAPHICS AND I KNOW IT WOULD LOOK MUCH BETTER, THEN USE WD40 TO REMOVE THE RESIDUE AND THEN A GOOD COAT OF ARMORALL WILL BRING THE OLD GIRL ALIVE. ARMORALL THE WINDSHIELD TOO(ANCIENT CHINESE SECRET)......... JUST MY 2 CENTS:twocents:

i will have to take a closer look, it seemed to me that there may be a "clear coat" of some kind over the graphics , because it was the first thing that came to mind, was to remove that.
have a good one

You are likely correct, years ago they applied the decals and then cleared over them. With todays graphics being so resistant to wear and tear you won't find the clear now.
