Well it's that time of the year again.
Sunday morning the barrels should be getting hot and geese will be falling from the sky.
Will post some pictures next week.
120 decoys and 4 blinds loaded in the trailer ready to go.

A bit to warm for me to start flinging arrows at the big game.
But if there are some ungulates taken please post them pics here also.

Good luck and straight shooting to all!

Going to get me a semi-auto shot gun in the next week or so, then hoping to take in a Goose hunt this year!

Kanedog 2015-2019, thanks for the good times S&M!
Hi,
I’m Kanedog’s dog. I am a patient, excellent hunter. I might look like a happy face friendly dog but I pretty much kill anything that moves.
I started out killing mice and moved my way up. My faves are bees, moles, rats, rabbit(my dog version of Macdonalds), raccoon, beaver, river otter and one deer. I learned to bounce like a deer by observing them. My parents roll on the ground laughing when my Husky azz bounces like a deer through the fields.
I got beat up by coyotes once and if they chase me, I will run to Dad and curl up at his feet. One time, daddy kanedog cut my food in half to make me lose weight. After two days of that BS, I went and killed a full size deer. He saw me eating the deer and now I always get full bowls of food.
I like hunting with Dad. He will flush out rabbits from the bush into my waiting mouth. I think he feels bad when I have the rabbit hanging from my jaws. He hasn’t done that for a while now. My latest activity is operating my very own rabbit farm. I let them grow up and reproduce. I watch their habits. I don’t chase them too hard. They build up their population and when I feel there is good meat on them, I will kill them. If I can’t eat them all, I will bury them in the cool ground and eat them later. Then I start the process all over again. This year is a bumper crop for rabbits.
I am an independent outside dog and I only come to my humans at breakfast and supper time. I show a ton of affection when hungry. I’’’ll turn around and brush my tail softly back and forth on their bare legs or maybe fall onto their feet. I really lay it on thick. After eating, I’m outta there and could care less about getting petted. I like to hang out in places where I can see everything but no one can see me.
Dad doesn’t know I’m using his account so keep it a secret please.

Little bit rusty with no shooting skeet this Summer but 13 birds were saved the hassle of flying south.
Did breasts, drumb sticks and thighs bagged and in the freezer.

Getting the 270 wsm dialled in for hunting season. The circled one is last three shots at 100yards. The lower circled one has three shots in it. I need to shoot more to get rid of my flinching lol.

See what the weekend brings and hopefully get to fling an arrow at more than just the target block. If not it’ll at least be a scouting trip

Was really looking forward to seeing what the trail cam had on it for pics after being in the bush since last fall. Something decided to use the tree & camera as a scratching post & broke the camera off. The rope and plastic lopes that it went through to hold the camera to the tree was still on the tree, camera was on the ground in the moss 3ft away. Moisture has wrecked the camera & the computer won’t recognize the sd card. A mix of deer, moose and elk tracks in the mud around the spring. Lots of bear poop around on the cutlines also

You last picture probably would’ve been a good one!

We shot 18 honkeers this morning.
Friend brought his daughter.
She thought it was an awsome time........it was!
31 geese so far for the season.
Couple pea fields combined, goose numbers will go way up next weekend......more if we shoot straighter than today.
We figure barrels got bent in storage.

The geese have really been flying here in the last week. Constant honking outside all day.

They sure love the pea stubble. That's the best place to dig your pits for sure.

Yes pea fields are the ones of choice for sure.
Dig pits......to much work, just cover coffin blinds with straw from the field.
Slow morning by myself.
Can't shoot same field 3 days in a row.
Only 2 for the pot but total now at 33.

13 more geese today.
At 46 so far but think I am done with geese for the year.
25 deboned in freezer and gave the rest away.
About 75# to grind for jerky to share with farmers that let me shoot.

Wicked fun every year.

I seen two pea fields yesterday north of GP. They were both filled with speckled belly’s, Canada’s and cranes. What a sight.
