Best Way to Polish Your Tunnel

Hello Ladies (and Gents)

I was wanting to polish up my tunnel this year and make her look nice and shiny. What does everyone use to get that shiny finish with the least amount of money spent.

Better yet, bring your sled to him to do the initial polish,buy some polish to touch up later. Awesome job. :thumbsup2:

if you want to do it yourself, I super love using Mother's Polish, with a polishing cone. Works so so so well!

I used F1 polish (bought it at the Peterbuilt dealer in Calgary).Used the Medium grit. Went to Canadian tire and got some buffing pads and used a drill. You do not need to push hard simply get the wheel wet and spin it , let the wheel do the work. Polish sure has changed since I did my Dads 18 wheeler. Back then it was all elbow grease. The harder you polished and hotter you got the Aluminum the nicer it looked. Now it's almost put on, wipe it around a little and it looks good. Maybe not quite that easy but way easier than I remember. One thing for sure. You do not remove the oxidation from the Aluminum, you simply move it from one place to another. From the tunnel to your arms, face and clothing

A little trick... when you are removing the polish sprinkle flour on the surface and buff with a clean rag. The flour will help remove the polish and acts as a super fine finishing polish as well.

I use this stuff I bought mine at the Edmonton Sled Show.

And a polishing cone or ball that I buy from princess auto.

I would love to do this, just not the right time yet. Got a wedding to pay for still, new sled comes after that.

I picked up a kit from Crackmasters called Flitz. It came with a power ball for your drill and a tube of Flitz. My sled deck was in pretty rough shape and this stuff polished it to a mirror finish.
