Thats good! I just bought a new toro electric start mower, a stihl leaf blower and a stihl weed eater. think i should almost go try and do peoples lawns for a buck since it cost me so darn much. I do a lot of free snow removal all winter in my subdivision with my skid steer though, roads and side walks, no driveways, dont want to scratch them

I'm so happy everyone has shared these stories. It chokes me up a little just thinking about how kind some of you people are. I'm gonna try and do something nice today for someone.

Reminds me of another story where I was on the receiving end of some kindness. When I lived in Whistler I ended up fracturing 4 vertebrae and 4 ribs so was bed ridden for a while. I was about 2 weeks away from having disability and if anyone knows, Whistler is a darn expensive place to live. My roommate would help me out and cook, and even helped me out of the bath tub once when I got stuck in it for hours because I couldn't get up.

But the biggest thing that anyone did was the Maintenance guys, 4 divisions; Fleet, lift, electrical and building, all pooled money together to get me by until I could come back to work and would take turns coming over and bringing me food. I cried so hard when they came by. It was amazing. Solid solid guys. I gave them a sweet going away present when I moved away.
Sure made me realize who the people are that were actually there for me.

Hey maybe the snow and mudders can pay it forward and go out and do a garbage walk in a sledding area? It sure would be some good PR for the sport and well..might find some lost go pro's and rhino's! lol

well I sit here reading all they great things that others have done and it definatly makes you want to do more to help people. I always do the regular things, like hold a door for a mom with a stroller or the elderly. I love getting coffee for the person behind me in the Timmies line up but I think today I will make an extra effort for someone........ makes you think. Great thread Rowdy!!!! How much time or effort does it really take to "pay it forward"?

We definatly have some great members on this site!!!

Not sure if this counts as a Random Act of Kindness, my buddy was hauling a load up to Wabasca late one night in the dead of winter, a couple of locals had found their way into the ditch, so he pulls over to give them a hand, as it was pretty cold out. They had been pretty heavy in the 'happy juice'. He tells them to hook a chain to their car and he hooks the other end to his lowboy and gets back in his truck, they flash their brake lights to let him know that they were ready, so he pulls them out. Well they were so pickled that they forgot to close their doors and they acted like a snow plow and litereally filled up the inside of their car until there was so much snow weight that it folded the doors to the front quarter panels! :alol2:

He figured that by the time they got their car cleaned out enough so that they could drive, that they would be sobered up by then.

I was travelling back from a job between grande cache and grande prairie in the middle of a snow storm around midnight when me and my helper came across a newer car buried into the ditch up to the windows my helper new to the area was eager to meet someone of the opposite sex so by judging by the car that was in the ditch we assumed it had to be lady so we stopped only to find that it was a younger gentlemen travelling from kelowna to fort st.john to meet his male friend (gay) with only light clothing no winter gear or cell phone we said we could call someone for him but he asked if we could pull him out a, chevrolet cobalt has no rear tow hook so we explained that we were unable to do it without wrecking his car he said he has to make it to fsj we explained that we could sling around the rear tires and try and to lightly pull him out, he was 100% all for this we hooked up i gave a littlle tug told him that it was going to wreck his car he replied don't be a sally so not to be called down i left about 15 feet of slack in the rope and hammered down only to drag the car approx 100 yards down the ditch only to have light body damage and rear tires pigeon toed cleaned snow out from under hood he drove off happy unaware of the carnage thanking us............... So does that count as a good deed or azz hole move?

I changed a flat tire for some old folks on the 'Capilano Bridge', in Edmonton, years ago during rush hour. They wanted to give me money and candy and stuff, after I got it changed. My thanks enough was just seeing how happy they were to see that someone actually stopped, and ask them if they needed help. Boy, was I proud a peacock that afternoon!

Went to my ATM and found $100 dollars still left in the dispenser. Took the money and gave it to my Bank clerk and said someone might be back for this. Turned out a senior gentleman came back short time later asking if anyone had turned in money. Poor guy forgot to take it. Bank called said he was delighted and thankful. Made my day that it went back to the owner and someone who needed it.

well I know this is not much.....

but every morning after I drop kids off at school I go to Tim Hortons....its always super busy here.....so I left a 20 at the drive thru window to pay for a few people behind me's coffee!!

Seemed to make the line move a little faster lol

Great thread Rowdy!!! Took me a few days to get through all the posts, and some made me a little teary-eyed.

I pick up a lot of hitch-hikers, even the smelly ones. Let one guy stay in my rental house for the night (was empty and furnished), fed him supper, then drove him 3hrs out of town and put him on a bus to Victoria so he make it to a wedding that he was trying to get to.

I always stop for people on the side of the road... No exeptions. Changed a tire for a lady at 3:00 in the morning in -15' weather while she sat in her car with the heater on.

I think I am going to keep my eyes open for some random acts of kindness that I can pass on because of this thread. Thanks Rowdy!!! :d:d:d

I was driveing home it was dark. Came across a dog on the yellow line and 2 cars on the side of the road. There was alot of traffic.I stopped whent back picked the dog up and moved it to the side on the road.It was bleeding from the mouth and could not move. The 1 car just ran it over.Phoned 911.Took the dog to the vet, spent 4 hours to find out the results of the xrays. He was bruised alot with 1 broken front leg and oposite back leg broken.The vet found the owner a family of 5 with 3 young kids. The vet drop the bill in 1/2. The family decide to save the dog.Me and the wife whent back the next and donated $100.0 to help the family out.It felt good to help out some one !!!!

I have a neighbour thats in his late 70's. last week he had to take his wife to edmonton for a hip replacement surgery. I went over the day before they were to leave to take her some flowers and tell her to be tough and all that mushy stuff. She's kinda like the gramma I dont have. she made me cookies one time

anyways he wanted to get his brakes on there old buick changed before they headed to the city he was telling me. I said Oh ya where you gonna take it to get it done? he says well I cant afford it right now so it'll have to wait. I had a beer with old Tom and walked back home. Sat on the couch for a minute and said to myself I dont want them going to the city with chitty brakes so I went to NAPA and bought a set of brakes for the 92 buick and went to his house with all my tools and floorjack and started changing there brakes...

Well!!! they came outside and started crying and thanking me and all that mushy stuff. The brakes were completely fawked! made me feel pretty darn good to know I helped them out and made them feel comfortable driving in the city
