After 6 years of marriage, my hubby and I went and got tattoos together for our anniversary- something we had always wanted to do together. I was always told that once you get one, you will be hooked... Well, today I found myself at a department store looking at a tattoo magazine and wondering what to get next, and where.

Just got me wondering about other people's tattoos: What, where and why did you pick what you did??? Regrets?? Would love to hear other stories... OR, if you are totally against tattoos and would never get one, I would love to hear that too!

each to their own. personally wouldn't get one. Although I almost got one once. all drunked up at a carnival went in to a tattoo tent and asked for a tattoo. Thank goodness the guy had some morals and told me to come back when I was sober.

Yes you will be hooked...I have 7 but not crazy ones.

Val and the girls have them as well.

When I am at work none of them are seen.

It took me a long time to get a tattoo, and I designed it myself. Each element is symbolic of me, my wedding vows, and my daughters. It is also in a place where it cannot be seen at work and also where I can dress up in a nice dress etc., and its not peaking out!!

Took 6.5hrs to do the whole thing and I was peeled and healed completely in 5 days: Not a bad first experience at all, which is probably why I'm going back for more!My Mom was mortified when I got it, but that's what Moms are for...

The pics are just done with my Blackberry phone, so they aren't tack sharp!

Got it done at Inklined in Sylvan Lake- Cost me $600. My tattoo artist was uber creepy, but other than that I was happy...

I love tattoos. I got one back in 2001. I took the emblem off my car and had it copied on my arm. Grand National and where it said Intercooled I put my 6 month old son's name in there "Gage" had some checkered flags and we were off. well the car was stolden the next week at the super chevy show in seattle. so when I took the Grayhound Bus back to Canada my friends said, "so what now, you have a tat and no car" so I had to find another Grand National and got a way better one the second time lol. but my son will allways be my son, and the car was my dream car and had two of them lol. my next tat is going to be the hotwheels symbol (flames with hot wheels decal) I love flames and when my son was born I painted his bed room in hotwheels blue, corvette yellow and he had 800 hot wheels all pinned to his walls in there year and group. so I used to collect hot wheels I still love them. the bigger the better but they can still be covered up. I need to get my first one recolored! I love tats

What a cool story Overkill! I think that's why I like tattoos they are like art and history all rolled into one...

My favorite tattoo ever is on my friend Dallas. It actually starts on each hand and runs over his palms and ends on each pec. It is scrollwork/handwriting that says "Too fast to live" on one arm and "Too young to die" on the other arm. The words "Live" and "Die" end up on each side of his chest. The writing is impeccable, but the tattoo itself is in memory of our childhood friend who battled recurrent bouts of brain and eye cancer from birth, but never let it slow him down. Despite losing one eye and being blind in the other, our little buddy loved to quad and sled and rip it up with the best of them. He died in his mid-teens after an amazing battle that few of us could have fought so well. He was truly a champ and the tattoo epitomizes and immortalizes his life completely. I get all girly and teary eyed just thinking about it!

I am thinking my next one will cover my left hip and spiral down towards the inside of the left thigh. Still won't be able to see it publicly, but I will know its there! I really love all things winter, and winter sports as does my hubby, so I want to play with a theme- snow flakes, mountains, maybe a sunburst behind a peak with snowflakes falling that gradually spiral down?!?

Other ideas: I am Irish and my hubby is also; he has a celtic tatto that is a green banner with our names and wedding date on his right calf. He still has a shamrock outline to be added, (but he suffered so badly in the first go-round that I'm not sure he will go back!) I would like to do something to honor my family history and in particular my father, who is my hero. Also, I wouldn't be who I am without my faith, so I would love to spin something off of that. So many ideas and so little hidden skin parts!! As my friend Morgan says, "You are too pretty to be covered in tattoos!"

Definitely will be sure before I go and do it tho. Lots of crazy people in the ER with "hidden" tats that they are embarrassed of when their clothes are being cut off. I definitely don't want to be in that category at any point!

You are talking about "Pepper" and he did my husbands tattoo at the same time as the owner, Murray, was doing mine. Pepper is a funny guy- full of chit, but funny! Murray, on the other hand: creepalicious!

So what did tattoo did you get?
