I just love that fact that there is a Woman's thread on here!
I live in Langley and go out frequently riding with a bunch of friends, I just love being out there in the mountains..... been riding for about 8 years now!! Since my new purchase in 2007 ( 700 Dragon), I have improved on my riding abilities and rarely get to go riding with the girls!
Dont get me wrong... I have improved in my riding abilities because of the fact that... if I want to ride... I ride with the guys! They push me and challenge me all the time! I had some lady friends that rode for a while but they just cant make it out as much anymore... :(! I would love to see more woman out there that could push, and challenge me.... Especially when your watching some hill climbing, to see a woman on the hill and to challenge me to get up there and try to beat it! Isnt that what the men do? LOL!
We plan on travelling alot more this year to find the powder and the new places that you never get to ride!
Hope to see you gals out there!

If you want to get Mrs.Boggers attention talk horses....she rides the machines and enjoys it but deep down she only needs one horsepower...She's not on much but I'll coax her on this weekend to introduce herself.......

Please do Bogger... I think the ladies would love to hear some horse stories, and I know she has a dirt bike to talk about ;)

I am the same way with dirt biking... have a lot of girlfriends that ride, but I ride WAY more..and with a lot of guys all the time..so it would be nice to find other girls to ride with that can challenge me..and actually I have met one on here and we have hooked up to ride a few times (Jackalack). She is awesome, and the only girl i've ridden with so far that can give me a run for the money! LOL as much as the guys make me so mad I want to cry sometimes, I thank them for pushing me so hard becuase I have learnt and advanced a lot. Wow.. they are good for something afterall eh? hehe

Hey ladies I`m PowderGirl. I`m from Sherwood Park as most people know me as Sledderglen's daughter. Ive been snowmobiling and quadding since I was about 2 or 3 and growing up being involved with the ASA. I can now say I don`t have blood running through my veins its mud and snow. I have a 2006 600 summit SDI 144 and a 1998 400 4x4 Scrambler.

Hey Everyone,
My name is Jessie and I was told about this web site by my hubby, samsquatch47 aka Dustin.
I am from St. Paul, AB. I am a safety coordinator in the patch and have been out of work now since September :(, but on the bright side it has opened up more time to ride!!!
We took our first trip to the hills, McBride, just this last weekend!
I have been on a sled for about 12 years, starting out on a Touring E!!!! And biking for more years than I recall.
Love the web site and LOVE LOVE LOVE :wtg: This HorsePower Honey's section!
Look forward to getting to know you gals here!

Hi Ladies!

Nice to see a way to meet up with other ladies!
Although originally from Nakusp where the sledding is awesome, the only time I like snow is when it melts to make some mud for quadding! We have 2 sleds but mine hasnt been out of the garage for quite some time. We now live in Central Alberta and prefer to camp n quad. Right now I have a wolverine, which I got talked into by my hubby because I prefer the sport quads and had a suzuki Z400, and he thought I should try something different. Should never have listened lol. I am now getting a Renegade..... but have been postponing on it because I did just have back to back babies (ages 7 months and 21 months), so havent been out in the past couple years as much as I usually do. We usually go out west of here and also head to Slamon Arm and Nakusp area a couple times in the summer. Hopefully this summer will be busier than last!!! That is unless I get pregnant again....... LOL :p

Welcome!! Nice to meet you Emmaa--
I am not far from you, in Rimbey. I went to Nakusp for the first time this summer and fell in love. What a beautiful little vacation area <3 I'm afraid I like to sled more than quad, even though I have been quadding far longer! I have to agree on the Suzuki 400- you shouldnt have gotten rid of it. I have had mine since 2002 and it has served me very well despite my crazy driving!!

We will probably head to the Salmon Arm area again this summer- likely very close to the August long weekend. Maybe we will see you around hey? At the tattoo show, out camping or maybe even on a mountain in the snow!!

I know I know....I kick myself bout getting rid of the suzuki all the time. Can always get another one but really looking forward to the Renegade.

Where abouts to you head out camping? We are usually by Outwest or Chambers if we are camping. Day trips are usually Phyllis Lake, Tay, Prairie Creek. Have headed down to Waiporus for the ATV Canada rides, but not a fan of the major rules down that way. I found camping with a 1 year old last May better with hook ups and showers on site. Other than the last time we went I was 8 months pregnant in a toy hauler with a 6 inch lift and a baby in the same room as everything else....so at the end of that trip we drove straight to the RV dealership and traded in the toy hauler. What a pain with kids!! lol. So now we have the "family" one with the kids room, etc in the back. Havnt used it yet mind you lol.

So I gotta ask....why would have gone to Nakusp? lol. We are heading to SA in May houseboating for the long weekend and then June and then Nakusp in July for Music Fest. I do go back n forth alot in the summer though.

We may head over next month and do some sledding. Depends if the hubby is off work then or not. I think thats why we have never really gotten into it much, is because he works all winter and takes most of summer off.

We do alot of our camping west of Rimbey- between Drayton and Rocky Mountain house. No hookups, but a well-kept secret so not much traffic either. Its also very close to home, and convenient with 3 little girls. We also tend to head toward Caroline and Abraham Lake alot. We have a membership at Wilderness Village that we have used twice since we bought it in 2006. It was great when our last was teeny-tiny, but we just like a little more Wilderness and a lot less Village! Guess its time to sell that...

We did the whole 'toyhauler with a 8" lift' thing for about a year. Pain in my azz! And hard on tires and leaf springs. My husband bought it when I was in labor with our third baby- on bed rest for a week and he had too much freedom obviously! Imagine going from a tent and a Jimmy to a bloody 39' toyhauler!! My family is from BC and we put on alot of miles to go out salmon-fishing every year. The upkeep was just ridiculous. So, we got a new truck and took the lift off/flipped the axles on the trailer and it is much better to use now.

We were in Nakusp for a ball tournament (super-fun). We had two people on our team from Nakusp/Edgewood area (I think that's the name) so they showed us some neat places and we got to know the area a little. We do hope to go back sledding at least once this winter. I would actually love to move there if there was any kind of job for me, but its just too slow of an economy.

My hubby also works alot in winter, but when he gets home the trailer and sleds are already loaded and we are GONE!! We could slow down long enough to collect you and yours tho...

Hey I just kinda noticed that you guys were talking about camping in and around the Nordegg area.. just thought I'd mention a very nice resort (Coliseum Mountain Resort) that my Dad owns and operates in Nordegg, great for families, or just a couple wanting to get away for a weekend! Cabins feature 2-3 double beds (bedroom and loft), pull out couch, bathroom/shower, full size refridgerator and mini fridge, woodburning stove, fully equipped, satellite TV, deck with bbq, private firepit & picnic table, firewood, etc! Available parking for toy haulers, trailers, etc. Ride right from the resort trails are close and easily accessible. CMR is located on Shunda Creek Road, past the Shunda Campground and right before Shunda Creek Hostile. Cabin rentals are anywhere between 150-170 + GST a night. There is a 2 story, 3 level Lodge with 6 bedrooms, hot tub, 3 bathrooms, etc however they have permanently shut it down and my dad and his wife & 4 cats have moved into it so they dont have to clean it anymore! LOL..it was used for lots of family reunions, weddings, etc. But the Cabins are very spacious and beautiful.. the entire resort was designed and built by my Dad himself :) Check it out sometime!
