Hey gals (and person's of small stature), i'm looking at avi bags, unfortunately each one i've tried on is WAY to big for me! I'm 5'2 and about 130 lbs. Any advice?

Sorry can't help you but just thought I'd say it's too bad the manufacturers of avy bags haven't designed packs for smaller stature riders. Lots of ladies and youth snowmobilers these days which is fantastic! Good luck in your search.

Check in with Kayli Dentman. She's tiny and I guarantee that she wears a bag.

I had to put something here, so that Doug has something to write about on my birthday.

The ABS Vario system has an 8l bag and the base unit comes in different sizes. Check it out......

"the best little shop on the prairies" is an older, sadly missed era.
I agree with ferniesnow...the ABS system allows you to pick from many different backpack sizes...there are even a few companies making bags to fit the ABS Vario base unit.
Good value in my mind as you can get the pack size you want plus if you want to change styles/colors in the future, you just zip off the old and zip on the new one...
if you are in or around Edmonton, talk to Spencer at MartinMotorsports....VERY knowledgeable guy on avy bags

My wife wears an ABS system, but it has no integrated back pack. Which she prefers, its only the ABS system, its very compact. She has a hard time packing weight on her back and finds the back pack cumbersome when riding. She uses a tunnel bag for her personal's and lets the sled carry that or me. Her ABS still has the traditional shovel and probe mounts like any other ABS systems. I don't have the model of it but if your interested i can get it from the pack.
Snowpulse highmark ridge or the older 15L (if you can find one) are a smaller stature bag, with adjustable waist position straps.

Hello,
I wear a snowpulse Avi vest with the chest protectors. By far the best thing I ever did. I tried many bags over the last few years and they were too heavy bulky and no protection. The vest still fits a little big and is a bit longer than I'd like but fits better than anything else I've tried. Love love the chest protection. I don't overly pack mine heavy. Just my saftey gear and shovel. Pair of gloves. Extra set of goggles. Everything else I store on the sled. The Avi vest is adjustable so you can snug it up pretty good. Overall for what's on the market for AVI bags and vests it's my go to favorite. One day they will make an Avi vest and bags for us ladies. But, for now. This does the trick.
Could also check out the BCA float 8. It is small, lightish and compact. Plus in a good price range!
I am 5'0. I bought the ABS powder line. It is a shorter bag than the vario. Which fits a smaller frame. I also bought the zip on bag for a sledder so I could attach my shovel and prone to the outside of the bag. It fits the essentials. Spare gloves, goggles, radio, snacks and drinks. I would highly recommend trying one. I had the same problem finding something that fit.
