Ah ok, thanks for clarifying that.

Don't be afraid to YouTube Rino 650. You'll find some useful info and some not so useful but you'll pick up some nuggets of wisdom.

Don't forget to hook your 650 up to the computer, go to the Garmin site and register it then check for software upgrade!

I bouht a U.S. Version with the 5 watt. When I register it and it updates...Will it recognize im n Canada and default to 2 watt? thatll suck. Went outta my way to get the American one

Your fine it wont convert or change any of that on you, with the Rino you can select what wattage by selecting the channels. When you flip through the channels it will tell you what watt you're broadcasting on.

a buddy of mine said after he registered his it wont go to 5w now so not sure if thats what it was
let me know how you make out as i have 3 650's

Shouldn't have. Have him scan through his channel numbers and see if the wattage changes.

Does anyone know if you have to buy maps twice if you have two Rino 650's, or can ya download to more than one unit?

Ibycus 4.0 is free and has very good detail.
I've uploaded Canada Topo maps to multiple GPS units before.
