Got the rino 650. Use them for hunting and quadding around our lake lot near Edson and for sledding. Don't think there has been a cut line or trail that hasn't shown up on it

great, i found it showed pipelines, seismic trails that we were traveling on. liked it way better than the canada topo maps. way more info. how you like the rino 650, i almost bought one, as i like the radio and location capabilities. i lost my rino 530hcx in the snow in december, in 3 1/2 feet of snow. will take a look in the spring for it. i still have a rino 130 and a rino 530,

650 is ok. Screen is a little small. 4 of us have them so when we're sledding we can see where everyone is. The radios arnt to bad. Can get about
3-4km in the thick of the bush.

range sounds good in thick bush, probably more over a clear area, or hill to hill. the best feature is the polling feature to know where everyone is and if they need help etc. the 650 has pretty much the same gps capabilities and accuracy as any of the topend garmins. yes has the smaller screen, which i found hard to see, but alround a very good unit, and your riding group has the same units. good choice.

well i became the proud owner of a new montan 600, got lots of learning to do. looks like it will do the trick.

aquires a good signal inside the house, will be excellent in the bush with overgrown trees. :D
Will it work upsidedown in the mud with a quad and an old man on top of it? ;)

In order to see where the boys are do they have to have the same gps or does it work with all other gps as well

How is the backwoods is it just as detailed as the books? Heard all the atv and snowmobile trails are marked? Thanks for reply!

Vilna, AB,
Attached are 4 different JPG'S/PIX of the same area, all at 700 m's. All data was taken from the Canadian Gov. The ibycus Topo V2.1 is no longer available,Gov changed their system, the ibycus Topo V4, is currently available on the net,(free). The Garmin Canada Topo V4 is the current release from Garmin, and the BackroadGPS Maps is V2. I did not opp for the Latest Version. Unless you have the computer skills to copy the Backroad software, they are (LOCKED). One can copy the ibycus and the Garmin MapSource Software. Dale Atkin (ibycus) out of Calgary AB, asks if you copy his software you give him the credit and do not charge for it, and if you are not succesful in down loading ibycus V4 from Torrents you can order a copy from him for $25.00. I have the Backroad GPS MAPS V 2 for AB and BC. and when I upgraded from their V1 to V2, I also aquired AB/BC on the DVD for an adittional $25.00. To me, the Computer Software is just as important as the GPS Mapping, If not more as I can plan my trips without going out of the house. The Backroads people will be at the Edmonton Boat and Outdoor Show this month.

Bruce.
