The best buy in vegas was the cheapest I have found through amazon, but get general to get them, so my question is if I would be the only person in my group would it be worth buying the 655t.THX

really comes down to dollars and cents. if you have the cash to burn, might as well go with it and maybe somebody in the group will get one later. you can communicate with any other FRS radios. at least thats what the specs say

yeah $500 is about the best yet so best buy will likely be it. I'm hoping since we're buying so many with a hand full of greenbacks we'll be able to get another $15 or $20 off each unit.

wtf darrin you don't talk to me now? should be able to communicate with all rino's and most of the hand held units. i have the rino 530chx very good so far, a rino 530 doesn't aquire a signal as fast and also a rino 130, less range, slower signal, still works well though. u should be happy, although with most of the features u may never use them.

Depending what channel you are on, you re probably only broadcasting at 500 millwatts (0.5w) anyways. I think only channels 1-7 are good for 2.0 watts or higher...

If you have a Canadian model of any of these, you can just download the USA software and upload to the unit.

I'm still on an old Rino 120, with USA software loaded to it....works great.

Try the GPS Store in Canada.
$510 bucks and second one is $40 bucks off.

Talk really nice and let them know you will be using them when you go South in the desrt quadding and ask for the 5 watt function to be enabled.

Great folks to deal with.

I haven't really a big difference between the 655t and the 650 other than the US Topo maps. Am I missing anything?
