Had to do a emergency quick run last night. I was sitting on ladd 1 and when i went to talk i had huge feedback and thumping through my speakers. Shut down my stereo and pulled my sat radio out and keyed the mike again with the same results. I have not noticed this on any other chan as its definitely noticeable. A few months ago using a different head unit but same radio while i was piloting my sub amp got smoked but no feedback through the speakers (may have had something to do with head unit) so i thought it may be a bad amp at that time.. Only thing in common on these 2 drips was it was dark out and lights were on. So now im wondering if teh new radio is picking up the radio through the wifi antenna, iv got a bad ground/power on the vhf, bad antenna wire, or its feeding back through the power wire and running back through sub amp since they are both connected direct to battery? Im going to pull the fuse at the battery today for amp to see if that changes anything, as well as get a cigarette lighter adapter for the vhf to eliminate something with my power ground setup.
This system worked great on my other truck for a year with not so much as a issue.. both stereo and vhf

After a quick stop at the local dealer. He was good enough to come take a look. Quickly popped the dash open and he figures my antenna wire is close or up against radio or some of the wires feeding the radio. Makes sense since I had dash apart repairing instrument cluster I may have grabbed the wire and bundled it up with the stereo wires by accident. He gave me s new location go route wire. He said the rest of the setup was good but maby take the ground feed off battery and ground it to body...

Should have tested the easy things first... a day in the dash and it turns out my coax is bad

Since I need new coax suggestions on where to purchase if I don't like my local dealers price. Pretty sure they quoted $100 last time.. prefer Canadian but will look at all options

I have a magnetic antenna with cable and coax. My price would be 2% of that quote.

turns out it was a bad cable and antenna location. After replacing the cable and mount i was still getting a thud when keying the mic but it would disappear with the mag mount. Moved the antenna and mount to headache rack and it disappeared. So im thinking the wifi, gps antennas, or truck computer, or remote start was picking up signal..
