Re: An All New King takes its Throne...Video

Would be nice to see a focus on a "REAL" mountain sled..... Getting tired of the flickable crap..

Im sure there will be a 163 version, but that will be heavier, so they aren't advertising that. 408 is light, but I would rather have some strength, and a 163 and 174 3" options.... Do some powder coating and make them look cleaner.... I guess they are looking at overall sales and not worried about competing with the T3!!!

Rant Over...

New Polaris CEO.....Chris Buandt...LOL

if it were up to chris burandt everyone in the world would be riding 155 sleds with 250hp jumping around all day like you just did a huge line of cocaine.

Where do you see gps/color display?

Are they really only doing a 155? Perhaps the 163 will come in a bit?

Obviously Polaris is concentrating on the boondocking rider and not the straight up highmarker like the T3.

A joke??? New chassis, new motor, new track, new a-arms, new brake rotor, LED headlight, GPS/color display, new rear skid, new plastic, new seat. 165hp and UNDER 400lbs with a can!! Pretty tough to impress the guy with a stereo on his sled apparently LOL!!
Where are we finding the new Hp numbers on this new pro?

If you look thru all the fancy advertising, its the same rotor as last year, GPS is just for the trail sled, The skid is just new rails, and the seat is the same as last year... Ya... it is nice upgrade. just thought they would try and build something to compete with the T3...

so .. all they did was replace the "flickable" jargon with "instantaneous lift" ...

"Take all the things that work and drastically improve them all" ??

should've taken the things that didn't work and fixed them ... like blowing motors, belt drives... They would have a decent machine if they just made the existing one more reliable and add hp

I like how their release is like a politicians campaign .. we improve everything, everything is better, we made it all better,
instantaneous lift WOW .. but we won't give you any actual details

with the new HO motor im sure it will be reliable. i would guess that would have been top priority for them. warranty claims dont pay the bills

I cant see them not releasing a 163" version but if they dont hello Doo. They better have powder coating/painted options for snowcheckers, id rather have the added weight versus snow build up.

Re: An All New King takes its Throne...Video

thats what i thought at first. but they look really thick the entire length? i think they will be fine despite how they look. Im really suprised no 162 version... unless i missed something. going to lose a ton of sales? new engine new track but no 162? thats a huge market IMO. i guess you dont want to let all the tricks out of the bag at once

What are you guys smoking lol. YES they will have a 163" for sure it's just going to be more weight so they use this one to show the 408lbs the 163 will come in around that 418 mark I am guessing. This is just one sled not the entire line up relax.

Re: An All New King takes its Throne...Video

I'm pretty sure Polaris will have more than one model March 2nd.

Also, "Instantaneous lift" is the new flickable I see.

Edit: Derp... got side tracked for an hour this thread gained a page or two before I hit submit. D:

The 163 is 415 lbs.

It gets released at 7pm. Give or take an hour as I can't recall what time zone that was in.

If anyone actually thought there was no other track length than the 155 I don't know what to say. Haha. Funny.

the advertised weight has always been the 155. i would be happy with a 155 2.7 inch track and 150+ plus HP for what i do and see in the mountains 90% of us are not KRAZY canadians.

Do they still
Have flat steering? Does anyone sell a kit to convert them to normal to an over the engine style steering post?

Re: An All New King takes its Throne...Video

i currently ride a 14 xm 163, but i also had a 14 cat 162 and before that the 12 pro 155. In all honesty i really like the doo as it is more refined fit and finish wise, runs smooth and is comfrtable fr me being a bigger guy. The cat was not nearly as refined and was actually the worst of the 3 for fit and finish, one very uncomfortable t ride for a bigger guy, heavy steering and ran like crap at the bottom end (loading up when you needed to get on the pin at the worst times) didnt like the sled at all. BUT if i had to pick the sled that was the best balanced sled to ride deep powder and sidehill it was hands down the pro. The only reason i sold it and bought the cat was because of blowing up the motor. The chassis and clutching was awesome. I like the doo its pretty good but it is not as balanced in a sidehill (have to work to find the sweet spot to keep it there) The pro could hold the sidehill all day long and the sweet spot was very broad. you didnt need to be standing in a certain spot on the running board to get it to work.

I have owned all 3 and am not a pro rider by any means......very average. I would love to go back to a pro if the motor is now pulling 160hp, it is 40pds lighter than a doo, gets up on the snow much better than the other 2 and is still comfortable for the bigger guy. Great sled no doubt.

jmho!

Re: An All New King takes its Throne...Video

I don't think the current steering design of the Pro works on the Axys. It should have a bent steering post.

It's not so much the steering I prefer on the Pro as I am used to both, but it is the front suspension design and how the sleds front is stretched out. I hope the new rider position doesn't change that too much as I believe that is why I prefer the Pro for more "technical" riding and why I find it is more predictable and easier to ride than the Doo's.

If it handles more like the XM I think that will hurt the sled for the guys who like the current Pro.
