agree on the quiet sleds, cans make no more hp so why bother? save weight.....sure but i garuntee nobody will even notice a difference, theres no way you can feel -20lbs on a 500lb machine
sold my last noise maker sled and all are stock now.

Another never ending battle in our group, if you aren't in peak physical condition try dieting and lose weight the economical way but you can't tell someone to lose 15lbs when they can spend 300 bucks and do the same while crushing mcdicks and Budweiser

lol, agreed. if 90% of the riders out there did some cardio they would be amazed at how much more enjoyable their day sledding is.

Had an MBRP on my 2010 M8. Sounded good when it was wicked but just while at idle or out following my at the time 9 yr old boy around it got real annoying and it also was always searchin at low rpm. Took it off and sold it and put the suitcase back on and the searching issue was cured. Sled is a alot quieter and runs better .

it's a age thing me thinks , because I have been annoyed by louder can's on sleds and it never used to bother me

Ya your really old though.

That he is.......it is still better than the alternative!

Growing old has it's privileges and it's annoyances..........loud cans are one of the annoyances!

Loud cans are also detrimental to snowmobile trails. Ask the Barrhead snowmobile club, or many other clubs in Alberta where trails cross private lands (in which the clubs have land owner agreements with)

ive got the 2014 mbrp race can this year. its fawking loud. i dont mind it with my helmet on but anyone with there helmets off is just plain annoyed. the stock XM suitcase is way to quiet. we do alot of tree riding so it is nice to have a good BRAP once in a while just to keep tabs on everyone in the group. just wish they could make them that small, light but substantially quietter

Don't they have a trail can also that's quieter until you get on it?

I'm a little torn, I still like the loud brap sound once in awhile and it can be nice to keep track of others when in the trees or low vis. That said I get annoyed by it too (and it pisses off other land users), as such my xm still has a stock can. Trying to decide between the nice quiet SLP or the louder Thing that can cook some grub.

Loud exhaust or quiet is a personal preference and if you are 50km into the bush, riding on a mountain some where, loud exhaust isn't a big deal. Do you pass by peoples property on your sleds to get to these places? How many other sleds go by these houses on a weekly basis? If the answers are yes and lots you should really think about that when choosing yer can. I run the specialty sleds can on my Freeride. 3lbs, Quiet at low RPMs, but you can still hear it when you are on the pipe, my 2cents
