I'm only 32 and have been sledding about 3 years and I've gone from loud to quiet cans and am at the point I actually can't stand loud cans, my 11 has become my gf's sled and she doesn't mind the jaws can but she's rarely pinned where it actually annoys me even at idle to the point I may sell it and put the factory suitcase back in, my 13 has a speedwerx can and it's perfect just over stock but not irritating, what's e everyone's consensus on cans, like them loud or quiet? This has probably been beat into the sand 100x but in the proclimb forum it got a little pissy and made me wonder if I'm in the minority on the topic

Running an MBRP can on my 13 XM and i think it's too loud.. When i'm riding it i don't mind it as much, wife or my buddies take it for a rip and i find the noise to be annoying.. Up at the top end of the rpm's and it's just whining..

it's a age thing me thinks , because I have been annoyed by louder can's on sleds and it never used to bother me
I kinda figured as much, I love the sound of a bb or sb with 2.5 duals and flowmaster 40's or 44's or any muscle car type rumble but to me the ring of a noisy two smoke or a honda with exhaust just gets under my skin, my group is split on the matter and to each their own but not having to shut my junk off to talk to my buddies has been a nice change this season... Bring on the grey hair I guess I'm rapidly aging, must be the stress of poorly raised meatheads I get to deal with in my day to day work life hahaha

Quiet here too. The last can I bought was in 2005. I took it off after a few rides. Sometimes you go where some other guys are riding and it just sounds like big angry bees running around.

My mbrp on my cat broke a mount thus creating a hole in it. Had it out Boxing Day and I thought my ears were going to bleed. Now one of my welder buddy's has a little side project to patch that nuisance lol

I have a MPI exhaust system on my 09 Nytro. At the time I put it on I thought it sounded great now 4 years later I am really thinking of ditching it for something quieter. It exhausts out the back so it doesn't bother me as much as it bothers others I ride with. We were up in northern sask a year ago riding trails that are covered over with trees, kind of like riding in tunnels, my one buddy said "that noise will haunt my dreams". After taking another sled while someone rode mine I knew what he meant. I like a good sound with out being annoying. I suppose that's a fine line.

I have the same. I am noticing it is just over stock for loudness, until it reaches about 7000 rpm, then it braaaps. It sounds ok, and I haven't had a problem with it yet.

is yours throwing codes? Dealer told my buddy a reflash on the ecu would correct it but he hasn't had a chance it's way too fun sledding right now

Nope. I haven't thrown a code on it yet. I have 8 days of mountain riding on it. Bought it second hand though..

One time I forgot to put in the sensor, rode it like that for a day and a half, and it didn't even make one difference in performance or codes lol...

Sled was updated to September 2013 according to the dealer when I inquired about the sled..
