Cops in golden

Ok boys rolling into town with the sleds and pulled over. tint ticket and to big of tires (sticking out 1.5 inches) Cops proceeds to tell me that i need proof of certification of lift instalation
This is to much golden is the only town i have these issues in. I come to town support all the local places treat everyone with respect love the locals but i just dont no why the cops are like this./

No i mean being assholes im at fault for the tint but too big of tires come one thats to much and telling me i need proof of lift certification that to much people will go elsewhere but if that what u call doing there job ... ok bud we arent drinking and driving we are in town to have fun and support GOLDEN we love the town and sledding id hate to see people go elsewhere because of too big of tires ticket (6inch lift 35"s)

I agree the lift ticket, that's a bit much... I'm sure that cop isn't famous with the locals. Probably some new recruit, I wouldn't base Golden's cops all on just one cop.

Typically lift, tint, HID's attract cops... Just so happens many sledders or Albertan's have mixture of that combo, so it feels like they're picking on us. I have none of these and have never been bothered....

ok that maybe a bit cheeky. Maybe they were just jealous, killer truck and going sledding and they are stuck in a cruiser having a gross day. Lots of that going around it seams these days. Moon phase or something. Question is, are you going sledding still?

Going to try. I have a place there also That's why I'm a little upset about this. Not the first time. Last yr got a ticket for a Jerry can not being strapped down in a closed box.

Tint is a gamble in B.C...usually ends up in a fine...for locals too !!! Nothing allowed on drivers/passenger window !!!

Cant wait to get into Golden with my trailer to see what laws I am breaking. On second thought, I think I will stay some place else.

Not speaking as a Mod for the site, but from personal experience.

About 4 years ago driving through ALBERTA...... I was pulled over for front window tint, I ate the ticket even though I didn't put the tint on (I bought it used that way). The next thing the Sheriff tried to nail on me, was that I have 20" tires and too short of mud flaps!!!!
I told him that that this is the way the 05 F-350 HD came from factory, and if there is a problem with this. That he should be ticketing Ford, that was dropped.
Next he asked to see inside the enclosed, seen the sleds tied down and the Gerry cans and said "you are good to go"
Long story short..... we need to know the laws, and what's legal or not?
The proof of the lift kit is BS, and I would challenge the cop on that.

Are cops allowed to search/ inspect your enclosed trailer? Can't you just say you don't condone to a search?

I have cops in my family, and yes!!! They have the right to search your vehicle and trailer.

Lol. He never gave ticket for the lift just said I needed proof of certification. Long story short he likeD the sound of his voice. An like I said tint that's my fault but to big of tires and bitching about the lift. He gets a thumbs down from me

I was born and raised in Golden and cops have been like that since the dawn of time even before Golden was a popular sledding destination. I can tell you stories but would need the whole night. Don't take it personally and simply try to stay within the law - except for the lift - total BS.

Hate to say it but im sure someone would... People with big ass tires and no mud flaps or very small flaps considering the size of the tire piss me off, hate that my truck gets peppered when these people rip by kicking up a **** ton of rocks.... Don't personally understand the fascination with big tires and big lifts, are these people compensating for something?!?!
